FLOATING AXE

Image
FLOATING AXE Devotional:- 2 Kings 6:1-7 “So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float’’ (V.6) NKJV  Sometimes when we read about some great wonders of God in the Bible, something makes us feel it was because the people were very special. But we need to know that they are men of like passion (James 5:17-18). They were just exactly like we are, but they were only men of faith. This makes God to work wonders through them. The sons of the prophet needed a big place of dwelling. So they decide to cut trees to make a new home. Thank God they requested that Elisha should go with them. As they were cutting the trees, the axe head fell into the deep river. And the man of God asked the Holy Spirit for what to do. The Holy Spirit was what they also depended upon, and there was a miracle. Friend, you also have the Holy Spirit. That stick is the word of God. Speak to the sinking situatio...

YOUR SCARS

Image
YOUR SCARS  2 Corinthians 11:22-33 Dev:- “Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;” (V. 25)      Your painful experiences in life are part of what God has allow you to pass through that you might use it to help others. Each of the junctions and bus stops you have passed through in life are all to have the experiences of feelings of others and be able to help them out (Hebrews 4:15).

YOUR MONEY

Image
YOUR MONEY 1 Timothy 6:17-21 Devotional: “Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,” (V. 18)           In this world, money is one of the strong means of exchange. With it we buy things from the market, with it, we pay wages, with it we pay bills, with it we serve the Lord and with it we demonstrate our love. So we can see that money is a vital factor in the life of people. But we must not forget that it all belong to God (Haggai 2:8). It is a product of the creation of God. So we shall give account of how we direct it.

YOUR MOUTH

Image
YOUR MOUTH Matthew 12:33-37 Devotional: “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. (V. 36) NKJV      One of the good gift God has given us is the ability to express ourselves through the mouth. This is a major way to communicate our mind to each other in the world. Our words are direct products of our heart (Matthew 12:34). When the soul of people are sold to the Lord, it will sooner or later reflect in their words. That is why the bible says “we shall give account of all the idle words we are speaking. The one in the secret or in the open (Matthew 10:26)

YOUR SOUL

Image
YOUR SOUL Mark 8:34-38 Devotional:- “Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (V. 37) NKJV      Your soul is actually your being. It is the man in you. It is your soul that will stand the judgement of God at the end of life. Your soul is the immaterial part of your life. It is your soul that really drives your life to all you have been doing and will do. It has three compartment. The intellect, the will and the emotion or action drive. Everything you do in this world passes through three compartments of your soul. That is why you are responsible for all your actions. They all pass through processes.

YOUR STEPS

Image
YOUR STEPS Psalm23:1-6 Devotional “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”  (V. 1)      You are responsible for your steps on earth. That is, where you go and what you do. All of these shall be brought to judgment and you will give account of them all. That is why as a child of God, we must mind our steps in life.

YOUR DECISION

Image
YOUR DECISION PROVERBS 3:1-10 Dev:- “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (V. 6)        The decisions are your choices. And it is important that each of us understand that we shall be judged in eternity based on the choices we make in this world. (2 Corinthians 5:10) The truth is that we make our choices and our choices make us. We are what we are and we are where we are today based on the choices we have made in the past. We also determine our future by our choice today. That is why we must make our choices carefully.

YOUR POSSESSION

Image
YOUR POSSESSION   Luke 12:13-21 Dev. “But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?'” (v. 20)      The word of God says all that we have are given to us by God (John 3:27). That makes all that we have to belong to God automatically (Psalm 24:1). And if our procession is from the Lord and belongs to God, then they are trusted into our hands as stewards. This then demand that we manage them with a sense of stewardship in the fear of the Lord.

YOUR GIFTS

Image
YOUR GIFTS 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Dev:- “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” (v. 7)      When we come to know the Lord, we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Part of the package of the Holy Spirit are the gift of the Spirit. The word of God says the Spirit gives them to each one as He wishes (1 Corinthians 12:11). That is why none of us can call it our own. It is called the gift of God.

YOUR BODY

Image
YOUR BODY 1 Corinthians 3:11-17 Dev “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (v. 16)      Most people don't know that the body God has given to us is a gift of God for our living. The reason is because many are not even aware that they are spirit, who have a soul and dwell in a body. When God made man, He first molded the body with dust before breathing into the molded dust that became man (Genesis 2:7)

YOUR TIME

Image
YOUR TIME Ephesians 5:15-21 Dev: “redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”  (v. 16)      We need to remember this always that our time on earth is an investment to our life. Our time seems to always be there. There is tendency to assume that we will always have all the time and forget to manage effectively.

STEWARDSHIP AND ETERNITY

Image
STEWARDSHIP AND ETERNITY Matt 25:28-30 Dev:- “And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'”        It is important that we take note that in the parable of Jesus about our stewardship, eternity is connected. This tells me that God is so concern about our stewardship in this world. This tells me that it is our stewardship here that determines our place and reward in eternity. This calls for seriousness on our side.

PROFIT ORIENTED

Image
PROFIT ORIENTED Luke 19:16-23 Dev:- “Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?'” (v. 23)     One of the principles we must keep at heart as stewards to the Lord is that God wants us to be profit oriented. In other words, God expect you to profit His kingdom and yourself in every assignment and opportunity he has given you. God wants us to labour as much as we can to progress and increase in our stewardship (Luke16:1-2) From the parable we read today, the Lord expects that what he has committed to our hands should increase more and more before He comes back. I want you to know that progress, increase or profiting is all about mindset. Understanding that you must be profiting as the Lord expect of you, gives you a forward thinking and progress focusing life.  F riend, the moment you have a profit and progress mentality, your mind will be set at work all the time to think of the way to it. This will make you to...

REGRETS

Image
REGRETS Luke 16:1-4 Dev: “"Then the steward said within himself, 'What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg.” (v. 3)    Stewardship teaches us that every act of unfaithfulness or irresponsibility in our current opportunities will be regretted. This is because unfaithfulness in every opportunity will lead to loss of such opportunity. No matter how great or small you think the opportunities are, when it is lost, it leads to regret.

LOSING OPPORTUNITIES

Image
LOSING OPPORTUNITIES Matt 25:27-29 Dev: “'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” (v. 2)      Today if you look back to your life, you will see many opportunities and privileges you have lost. This is often due to negligence. It is important you take note of it from now that every privilege or opportunity you are not faithfully utilizing will be taken from you and be given to another. You need to know that this is one of the strong principles God.

YOUR ABILITIES

Image
YOUR ABILITIES Exodus 31:1-11 Dev:- “And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,” (v. 3) NKJV      God has invested in each one on earth some special abilities. What you are design to do, no one can do exactly like you. That is why if you don’t make your unique contribution to the body of Christ, no one will. God will at the end raise others. Your unique abilities are your natural inborn talents (Exodus 31:3-5). All our abilities comes from God at birth (Romans 12:6).

WICKEDNESS

Image
WICKEDNESS Matt 25:26-28 Dev:- “But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed” (v. 26) NKJV      It is an act of wickedness when God invest in your life, the opportunities he has given you and you use it for nothing. It is an act of wickedness when God sees the ability in you and He gives you the grace to manifest it but you refuse. It is an act of wickedness when we fail. It is an act of wickedness when God keeps you alive, heal you, save you, strengthen you, and you still see God not good enough.

EXCUSES

Image
EXCUSES Matt 25:20-27 Dev “And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours” (v. 25) God is a successful God and He has not make anyone to fail. But people fail when they lack understanding. When we see others more than us, we get disturbed and ask why me Lord? This is because our mind is only on the profit but not on the responsibility we need to take to produce more in life.

THE WAY TO MORE

Image
THE WAY TO MORE   Luke 16:9-13 Dev “Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?” (v. 11)      Everyone in the world always want more in life. That is why the economist says, human wants are unlimited. It is a beautiful thing to keep increasing and becoming big in life. That is actually the plan of God for all his children (Proverbs 4:18) But this is not just automatic. There are principles that govern more in life.

YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT

YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT  2 Corinthians 5:9-11 Dev :- “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad”(v. 10)      Everyone on earth will one day stand to give account to their maker on how they have managed all that the Lord gave to them (Matthew 25:19). This is because your life is an investment of God to your world. You are a gift to your generation. God's gift are always packaged into people that will be able to deliver them to their world and God have made all of us a gift to our world.

OUR DIFFERENT ABILITIES

Image
OUR DIFFERENT ABILITIES Matt 25:14-19 Dev “And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.” (v. 15)      Sometimes we get disturbed when we see someone doing better than us in life. We sometime feel God is partial. This is the mentality that made people organize robbery. This is because they feel so, so and so are getting better than them. So they feel they should rather go and take their share. This will always bounce back and result to zero. It is important we come to know that our level today determines what God allows us to access. There is no one to be blamed than us. If we want more we therefore have to improve our capacity (Luke 16:10-12). The capacity of each and everyone is his/her limitation. The scripture says each one is given according to his own ability. Friend, one of the vital assignment we have on earth is to increase our capacity. Our capacity is what we ca...
