FLOATING AXE

Image
FLOATING AXE Devotional:- 2 Kings 6:1-7 “So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float’’ (V.6) NKJV  Sometimes when we read about some great wonders of God in the Bible, something makes us feel it was because the people were very special. But we need to know that they are men of like passion (James 5:17-18). They were just exactly like we are, but they were only men of faith. This makes God to work wonders through them. The sons of the prophet needed a big place of dwelling. So they decide to cut trees to make a new home. Thank God they requested that Elisha should go with them. As they were cutting the trees, the axe head fell into the deep river. And the man of God asked the Holy Spirit for what to do. The Holy Spirit was what they also depended upon, and there was a miracle. Friend, you also have the Holy Spirit. That stick is the word of God. Speak to the sinking situatio...

BE THE BEST

Image
BE THE BEST Daniel 1:6-21 Devotional:- “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm” (v. 20) NKJV      The Holy Spirit is the spirit of excellence. Everyone who walks faithfully with the Holy Spirit will always be the best in whatever they do. One of the assignments of the Holy Spirit is to make you the best in your family, your endeavours or even in your ministry.

GROWING FAITH

Image
GROWING FAITH Jude 1:20-25 Devotional:- “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit” (v. 20) NKJV      One of the beauties of the Holy Spirit is the ability to drive man into faith. It is important you know that without faith, no man can relate with God or please God or receive anything from God (Hebrews 11:6). It is impossible to experience God’s kind of faith without the Holy Spirit.

REIGN IN LIFE

Image
REIGN IN LIFE Daniel 5:1-12 Devotional:- “There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father-your father the king-made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayer” (v. 11) NKJV.      Today, in our nation, we need Spirit filled people to ascend to leadership of our politics. The ungodly has been ruling us for years. People who pretends to be Christians but do not have the Holy Spirit or the fear of God. People who could because of power do anything no matter how bad.

BECOMING INTELLIGENT

BECOMING INTELLIGENT Isaiah 11:1-5 Devotional:- “The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord” (v. 2) NKJV      The world today like ever is in need of men and women of solution like Joseph and Daniel. Industrial revolution in the western world is a product of the demonstration of intelligence by the spirit. To be intelligent is to be able to think through to brilliant solution (1 Corinthians 2:11) It is the ability to acquire applicable knowledge. It is to have understanding of a matter.

SPIRIT FILLED COMPANY

Image
SPIRIT FILLED COMPANY Acts 4:23-31 Devotional:- “And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them” (v. 23) NKJV      One of the wisdom of God to keep a believer in continuous quality relationship with the Holy Spirit is keeping company with the Spirit filled believers. As social being, it is easy for us to be influenced by pairs. That is why it will be wisdom to pair up with right people (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

GRIEVE NOT

Image
GRIEVE NOT Ephesians 4:25-32 Devotional:- “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption” (v. 30)       Every believer need to take this precaution regularly not to grieve the Holy Spirit. We should always fear the Lord (Proverbs 1:7). We should realize that we are highly privilege to have the Holy Spirit dwell in us (2 Corinthians 4:7). Holy Spirit can only dwell in us because we have dedicated our lives to God. Now that He dwells in us, we have become the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). Remember God is a jealous God.

ACKNOWLEDGING HIM

Image
ACKNOWLEDGING HIM 1 Samuel 30:1-10 Devotional:- “So David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?" And He answered him, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all"(v. 8) NKJV      As part of our faithful walk with the Holy Spirit, we must learn to always acknowledge Him. The word of God says “in all our ways, we should acknowledge Him” (Proverbs 3:5-6). It is when we acknowledge Him that we can consciously walk with Him.

BE FILLED

Image
BE FILLED Ephesians 5:15-21 Devotional:- “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit” (v. 18) NKJV      To be filled of a spirit is to be totally taken over by that spirit. This is to be full of the Holy Spirit. When a man is full of the Holy Spirit, it means the man is totally taken over by the Spirit. It means, there is no room or space for other spirit in the life of that man.

WORSHIP

Image
WORSHIP John 4:19-26 Devotional:- “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (v. 24) NKJV      For a believer to relate more and more closely with the Holy Spirit, one of the avenue that is vital is worship God. Since God is a spirit, then, you can only worship Him in the spirit. Worship is therefore only possible when we learn to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us to the father.

GROWING RELATIONSHIP

Image
GROWING RELATIONSHIP 1 Timothy 4:6-11 Devotional:- But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness (v. 7) NKJV      Today, many believers rather exercise towards worldly or bodily exercise. This is because; this is what we see others around us doing, so we tend to believe that, that is the correct way to live. No believer has the time to regularly exercise themselves in the Holy Spirit.

CONSCIOUSNESS OF HIS PRESENCE

Image
CONSCIOUSNESS OF HIS PRESENCE Psalm 23:1-6 Devotional:- "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me" (v. 4) NKJV      For anyone to have the full benefits of the Holy Spirit, he/she must live in the consciousness of the Holy Spirit that is in him. The challenges with many Christians today is that they pray in tongues in the church on Sunday and all though the week, they live as they like without the direction of the Holy Spirit. Most people just live as ordinary men.

BAPTISM

Image
BAPTISM Act 2:1-12 Devotional:- “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (v. 4) NKJV      For anyone to start to experience the benefit and the blessings of the Holy Spirit, he/she must experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said to the disciples that they have to wait till they were baptized with the Holy Spirit (Act 1:5-8). Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience in filling of the Holy Spirit. It is to be immersed into the spirit and the spirit into you (John 15:5).

OUR STRENGTH

Image
OUR STRENGTH Isaiah 40:21-31 Devotional:- "But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint" (V. 31) NKJV      No man can succeed without strength. The strength of life is not in the muscle, it is supplied to our mind by the spirit. This is what is called the energy of the spirit. Whenever it flows to you, it energizes you to achieve a given task. There is no man that cannot succeed and progress when strength comes.

OUR HELPER

Image
OUR HELPER John 15:18-27 Devotional:- "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me” (v. 26) NKJV      Man is often beclouded by thought of unpleasant situations and circumstances. So, when we are demanded to give an answer we could find our thought escape and not coherent as we would have loved to have it. Sometimes, you may need a particular thought which may look deleted from your mind. At such times, we need the help of the Holy Spirit.

PURIFIER

Image
PURIFIER Scripture Reading: Malachi 3:1-7 Devotional:- “He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness” (v. 3) NKJV      As a child of God who is focused on reigning eternally with Jesus, it is important you focus on the purification ministry of the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:16-17). This is where the church today is missing out. That is the reason the church is becoming worldly. The purifying ministry of the Holy Spirit is what take a believer through a refining process to become holy before the Lord.

HE CONVICTS

Image
HE CONVICTS   John 16:5-11 Devotional:- “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:” (V. 8)      One of the strongest ministries of the Holy Spirit is that, it convicts our heart of the truth. He makes us to be clear about our action. He makes us to know when we do what is right or what is not right, so that, we will have no one to blame for our actions. The Holy Spirit makes the consciousness of our actions clear enough to us and leaves us to make choices. He will never force Himself on us (Genesis 6:3).

HE SPEAKS

Image
HE SPEAKS Mark 13:9-13 Devotional:- “He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given” (V. 11)      It is always beautiful when the Holy Spirit speaks to us. He is a speaking Spirit. Every time you ask, the Holy Spirit speaks back to you. That why it is important we recognize how He speaks. It is important we recognize His vocabulary and His ways of speaking.

THE REMINDER

Image
THE REMINDER Isaiah 50:1-5 Devotional:- "The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned” (V. 4)      One of the beautiful ministries of the Holy Spirit is that, He reminds us of definite information at the right time. The Bible talks about the bearer of a word in season (Proverbs 15:23). This is a word supplied to us to give answers at the instance of a need (Luke 21:14-15, Psalms 81:10). This is always a wonderful blessing of the Holy Spirit.

REVEALS SECRET

Image
REVEALS SECRET Daniel 2:20-30 Devotional:- “He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him” (V. 22)      The Holy Spirit is the one who reveals deep things. Engaging in thinking makes us to search out matter or solutions to situations. The act of thinking is what has made man to make the world better than when it was created. By thinking we can generate wonderful ideas that can turn our lives and our nation around. But thinking can be frustrating when you cannot think through.

HE TEACHES

Image
HE TEACHES John 14:25-31 Devotional:- “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (V. 26)      Part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to teach us all things. This is not limited to Bible but all things that are edifying for our journey on earth. This is possible because He knows all things (1 Corinthians 2:10, 13). This is possible because it is the spirit that can truly educate our mind to light of understanding (Job 32:8).
