FLOATING AXE

Image
FLOATING AXE Devotional:- 2 Kings 6:1-7 “So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float’’ (V.6) NKJV  Sometimes when we read about some great wonders of God in the Bible, something makes us feel it was because the people were very special. But we need to know that they are men of like passion (James 5:17-18). They were just exactly like we are, but they were only men of faith. This makes God to work wonders through them. The sons of the prophet needed a big place of dwelling. So they decide to cut trees to make a new home. Thank God they requested that Elisha should go with them. As they were cutting the trees, the axe head fell into the deep river. And the man of God asked the Holy Spirit for what to do. The Holy Spirit was what they also depended upon, and there was a miracle. Friend, you also have the Holy Spirit. That stick is the word of God. Speak to the sinking situatio...

BE A BLESSING

Image
BE A BLESSING Scripture Reading: Mark 10:17-31 Devotional:- “Then Peter began to say to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You."”  (V. 28)      A wonderful way to remain encouraged is by being a blessing. To be a blessing means, you encourage others with what you have. To be a blessing, is to sow the seed of grace into the life of others. A great number of people just don't know what to do with their lives. They just need a little push to move forward in life. Someone need to part with his time, energy, money, gift and special ability to lift up others.

JOY COMETH

Image
JOY COMETH Scripture Reading: Psalms 30:1-7 Devotional:-  “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.” (V. 5)      Jesus has prophesied in His word that His children will have their sorrow turn to joy (John 16:20). This means, there shall be time of pains and sorrow. It is therefore, so important that we make up our minds to see our joy, no matter the situation.

YOU CAN

Image
YOU CAN Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:10-20 Devotional:-  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (V. 13)      As a result of the experiences of some people in this end time, they are already giving up their faith in God. Many are already joining the way of the world. So many don't want to wait for the Lord anymore. This is because they have no faith in God, so they have no faith in themselves either.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Image
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE   Scripture Reading: Matthew 17:14-21 Devotional:-  “So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (V. 20)      Today the world is filled with impossible. This is due to having so many people who are not willing to operate by faith in the power of God. The power of God is the manifestation of the forces of heaven, carrying out assignment when a believer make a decree (Job 22:27-28). Men in their mind do not understand that the mind as great as it is can be limited without the influence of the spirit of God (Job 32:8)

FOR THE GOSPEL

Image
FOR THE GOSPEL Scripture Reading: Luke 5:1-11 Devotional:-  “and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."” (V. 10)      God made you to be a demonstration of His glory. The reason for this glory is that your life becomes a witness for Him (Matthew 5:16). When anyone is appointed as an ambassador of a kingdom, they see themselves as highly honored. This is because when you represent a kingdom, you are standing in for the king of that kingdom and you are regarded as the king. So it is with each of us that the Lord has sent.

MADE FOR HIS GLORY

Image
MADE FOR HIS GLORY   Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:1-5 Devotional:-  “The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken." (V.5)      It's important you keep in your mind that God made you for His glory. It is important you keep this at heart that your life may bring honour to God. He said, His glory shall be revealed in your life and everyone around you will see it together (Isaiah 40:5). That is why you need to know that your life will at last fulfill the promises of God.

NEW PAGE

Image
NEW PAGE Scripture Reading: Revelation 5:1-10 Devotional:-  “But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."” (V. 5)      So many today are waiting to see the salvation of the Lord in all areas of their lives. You need to make up your mind to see the glory of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). And you will see it.

PECULIAR

Image
PECULIAR Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 2:1-10 Devotional:-  “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (V. 9)      The faith of most Christians today is been challenged. Because of the event of the perilous time, many are slipping into ungodliness. Today like the previous times, the preacher of the word of God look like a laughing stock. It is therefore so important that you know who you are. If anyone has no strong identity with the Lord, he is bound to mingle and miss eternity.

IT’S NOT OVER

Image
IT’S NOT OVER Scripture Reading: Genesis 37:26-36 Devotional:-  “Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt” (V. 28)      Sometimes in the life of a child of God, the enemy may look winning. But you need to settle it in your mind that the great one is in you (1 John 4:4). It may look like the promises of God has failed and may not come to pass again. But this is not true. Heaven and earth may pass away, but God will fulfill His word (Matthew 24:35).

HE WILL UPHOLD

Image
HE WILL UPHOLD Scripture Reading: Isaiah 41:8-15 Devotional:-  “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (v. 10)      Today, we live in a world where all manner of temptation flies around us. It is becoming a challenge to stand for the truth. The wrong is looking like right. Those who are holding on to the truth look so foolish by the popular view. Sincerity is sleeping away from the hands of so call Christians.

YES AND AMEN

Image
YES AND AMEN Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:15-24 Devotional:-  “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (V. 20)      We are living in the world where nothing is really sure. Everything seems to be unstable and unpredictable. This has really affected the faith of many. This has made some to think the word of God is no longer true.

NEW THINGS

Image
NEW THINGS Scripture Reading: Isaiah 42:1-9 Devotional:-  “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them." (V. 9)      The way things are going for many today look as though there is nothing good to come again. The truth is that the end of the age is drawing closer each day. But you need to know that there are things God still intend to achieve through the life of His children. It is only those who can position themselves rightly that can find fulfillment of the word of God at last.

HE WILL MAKE A WAY

Image
HE WILL MAKE A WAY Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:16-21 Devotional:-  “Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters,” (V. 16)      Everyone in this world is bound to face one challenge or the other in the course of pursuing our vision and dreams. Many a time when we are face with difficulties, the devil will want to use the opportunity to intimidate us. The devil always wants us to feel that God cannot help us.

GOD IS ABLE

Image
GOD IS ABLE Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21 Devotional:-  “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” (V. 20)      All kingdom citizen need to know that their God is able to do all things. No matter how challenging our situation might be, our God can turn it around for good. We don't need to join in an ungodly life that many are living and celebrating now in the name of success. Because today, it looks like ungodliness is better (Psalm 37:9-11).

THANKFUL HEART

Image
THANKFUL HEART Scripture Reading: Luke 17:11-19 Devotional:-  “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" (V. 18)      One of the attitudes of encouragement is thankfulness. The reason many don't have a thankful heart is because their expectations is higher than what they are experiencing. They do not appreciate the place of gradual growth or growing by labour (Proverbs 13:11). Most people don't want to climb but jump. God can decide to bless us abundantly but we must thank Him for whatever He is doing in our lives per time.

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

Image
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 30:1-8 Devotional:-  “Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God” (V. 6)      One of the ways to be stronger than the resistance of life is to learn the act of self encouragement. This is a skills you must acquire. Simply because many times in this world, people are individually busy and are all facing their own business. So expecting people to always encourage you may not be realistic.

PRESENCE OF GOD

Image
PRESENCE OF GOD Scripture Reading: Psalms 16:1-11 Devotional:-  “I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved” (V. 8)      Another factor of encouragement is the presence of the Lord. When you are sure that the great God is with you in your journey, then you will be courageous. God has to encourage Jacob and assure him of His presence (Genesis 28:15). He did the same with Joshua (Joshua 1:5). God did this with many successful leaders in the word of God. You also need the same.

RIGHT COMPANY

Image
RIGHT COMPANY Scripture Reading: Act 4:18-31 Devotional:-  “And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them” (V. 23)    Another beautiful avenue for us to receive the seed of encouragement is by been in the right Company. A company is a group of people you regularly fellowship with. But it becomes a right one when they value celebrate you and among them they always share the words that encourages each other. The company is right because the people there are godly and wisdom focused. In such places, they shared the truth of the word of God and can be supported and corrected when necessary.

WISE WORD

Image
WISE WORD  Scripture Reading: Proverbs 23:1-11 Devotional:-  “Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words” (V. 9)      The knowledge of the truth that shows us the way out or the way forward in life always encourages us. This is because what punctured or leaked our courage is our unpleasant experience in life. So when we hear wise words, it reveals our weaknesses and the strength we need to acquire and show us the way of strength. This gives us hope and a way forward.

WORD OF GOD

Image
WORD OF GOD Scripture Reading: Psalms 119:89-96 Devotional:-  “I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life” (V. 93)      It is important we identify the seed of courage for our encouragement. The truth you must know is that, this world is full of seed of discouragement. Yet, it is only those who allows it that will destroy their courage in life. As a child of God, you must know what makes you stronger than the forces of this world. The main seed of courage for our encouragement is the word of God (Luke 8:11, Psalm 119:97-100).
