Proverbs 12:1-8

Everyone always likes to claim that he is right as we face the issues of life. We like to shift the blame for our failures onto another and thereby justify ourselves. Looking critically into most of these situations, one will find out that we are simply justifying ourselves because no one wants to be wrong.

May I let you know that this is not attitude someone who want to wisdom. If you want to increase in wisdom, you must accept that you are wrong when you know you are wrong and accept corrections. Many people feel that when they are corrected it means that they are inferior to others. So they kick against correction. But little do they know that they are doing themselves wrong. Please know that you are doing much good by accepting correction. It takes humility. It may not be pleasant receiving correction, but the fruit will be good (Heb. 12: 11). Be happy when you have someone to correct you.

Correction increases your knowledge. It refines you and opens your eyes to what is right and wrong. It teaches you in a painful way but gives you a lasting lesson. Correction delivers us from a wrong view of life and bad habits to see and know more. Correction makes a man wiser and gives more understanding of life (Proverbs 9:7-9). Refusing correction simply means you hate the development of your mind and so building a weak and disastrous future for yourself. God has planted some people around you to be used in correcting you and get you refined for a glorious future; don’t refuse them

Prayer: Lord, give me a deeper understanding of the power of correction

“HE THAT LOVES CORRECTION IS WISE”
