Proverbs 10:14-21

Do you know that your words are an expression of your heart? They can be used as a picture of yourself. You will notice that a lot of the time you have the privilege of conversing with people, something just keeps pushing you to continue talking until you overdo it. Then you’ll begin to say what you don't mean to say. Many a time, the volume of words that come out of our mouths is not what we have planned for or decided, but because we have not learned to caution our lips, which is an act of discipline. Such excessive words can later become instruments of temptation in the near future.

If you want to be wise and your words to be of comfort and benefit to others, then you will need to learn to restrain your lips. You can do it by consciously cautioning your self whenever you are speaking; a wise man doesn’t speak all the time. When he does, wisdom is discovered in his speech.

It is not good to hide your feelings, but watch your words. Do not sin and destroy others (Ephisians 4:24). Many don’t bother about what comes out of their mouth; some speak corrupt words. Some copy jesters and lose their integrity before people. Little did they know that what they’re saying determines many things about their life and future. Why should we put up corrupt speech which may mar our image (Colossians 4:6)?. Let your speech always be with grace and seasoned with salt that you may know how to answer each one. By this you will save yourself and be of blessing to people around you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to always keep my mouth in wisdom

“YOUR WORDS REVEAL YOUR WORTH”.
