Whenever God wants to help a man, He will often do it by creating opportunities by bringing people who need help around him. For your help to come, you may need to look at people that you need to help. They will in turn, be your helper. Our help, in many cases are packaged in a man who does not look like it. People who seems to be useless and helpless are sometimes helps in disguise.

David was a young man who needed the help of God. His master was willing to kill him, and he was just running about to hide. But right in his hopeless situation, God’s word says the distressed, the debtor and the sorrowful came to him. For what? They needed food. They needed someone to pay their debt. They needed someone to remove their sorrow. David himself had nothing to give. Rather, he turned these people into an army, and he became their commander. By and large, I am sure their debts were paid, and their sorrow turned to joy. They eventually became the mighty men of David.

Friend, if anyone is turning to you for help while you may not have what to give, try to be part of seeing him/her out of the situation. Learn to put your case aside to be a helper in your own little way. It could be to introduce him to someone for a job or contract. It could be to show him something he could do. And he may in turn be your helper.

Prayer: Lord, help me not to miss my help when it comes.

“OUR OPPORTUNITY TO BE HELPED ARE OFTEN HIDDEN IN OUR WILLINGNESS TO BE A HELP”
