They do not know that it is the ladder that will carry them to their next level. Most people often appreciate what they don’t have more than what they have. Until a man can appreciate what he has, advancement in life will be difficult. The enemy often wants to deceive us into seeing that what God has given us is not good. And since some people believe that what they have or are receiving is not good, as a result cannot make anything good of it. See, what you have is the...

Acts 13:1-5

In the world of beauty, people in this part of the world psychologically believe that having a colour other than black makes you a better person. This goes beyond beauty; it is rather a mental thing. People who are drivers to men of other colour believe that they are better people and are proud of it, even if the one they drive is the age of their son.  But it is high time people received the understanding that it is God who made man in His own image (Genesis 1:27). The variation in colour is no different from mere variation.

Some people unconsciously believe that God will be a white man, but the Bible didn’t say that. The scripture we read today is the record of a group of disciples of Jesus who are prophets and teachers. Among them was a black man, and he must have been an African. This shows the unbiased nature of God (Acts 10:34-35).

But far more than this, you need to know that it is a privilege to be created in your colour. If you can think well, you will know that your colour gives you a better advantage in the world. It makes you acceptable, peculiar and marketable among your people. And among people of another colour, it makes you peculiar and special. You need to know that God chooses your colour to fit your destiny. See it no more as a minus, and then the privilege shall be opened unto you.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for my colour.
