FORGIVING YOURSELF

FORGIVING YOURSELF Luke 22:54-62  Devotional:- “So Peter went out and wept bitterly.bitterly.” (V.62) NKJV Before a man can begin to enjoy the expressive love of God in his life, he must learn the act of self-forgiveness. Self-condemnation is always a terrible permission for the devil to take over in the life of a believer. This can make him lose his self-worth in God’s presence. It can make a believer lose his authority in Christ. It can make a believer lose his joy and build an environment of sorrow. And you need to know that the environment of sorrow removes from you the presence of God. He only dwells where there is fullness of joy (Psalms 16:11). Unforgiveness can make a man build an atmosphere of fear and then permit the presence of demons. This also breeds discouragement and frustration and makes the life of its victim miserable. The wonderful thing in the scripture we read today is that, though Peter denied Christ publicly and committed a grievous sin, he did not let...

GRIEVE NOT

GRIEVE NOT

Ephesians 4:25-32
Devotional:- “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption” (v. 30)

Every believer need to take this precaution regularly not to grieve the Holy Spirit. We should always fear the Lord (Proverbs 1:7). We should realize that we are highly privilege to have the Holy Spirit dwell in us (2 Corinthians 4:7). Holy Spirit can only dwell in us because we have dedicated our lives to God. Now that He dwells in us, we have become the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). Remember God is a jealous God.

To grieve the Holy Spirit is to disobey His order repeatedly. It is to frankly look down on His way and wisdom. It is to honour the way of men and of the word and disrespect the way of God. These and more are what we do to grieve the Holy Spirit.

When a man grieves the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will be inactive in the man. The Holy Spirit will no longer be part of his decisions anymore. This is what happens when we observe we are weak in the spirit or we are not flowing in the spirit (Psalms 51:10-12). When you observe this, please cry to God for mercy and restoration. He will have mercy on you when you repent. And there shall be restoration. Peace!
