One of the major ways to make known the potential in us is by speaking. If you don’t speak, no one will know what you are up to or what you can offer. Jesus said It is from the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). It is therefore important for you to know that when you are opportune to speak either to someone or a multitude, God has given you a privilege to express what is inside you.
In the scripture we read today, the Lord said to Paul the apostle that he needed to keep speaking in that town to fulfil his purpose there. Speaking what? The good news God has given to him. This does not mean you should be a talkative. But that every time you have to speak to people, see it as a given privilege from God to express the richness of your heart. So, value it and use it well.
The Bible teaches us how to maximise our opportunity to speak. In Colossians 4:6, our words should be seasoned with salt to be able to edify, exhort and comfort others (1 Corinthians 14:3). Do you know that you are known and rated by what you speak? Men often recommend you based on what they hear from you (Genesis 41:9-14). That is why I often pray for wisdom before I speak (Proverbs 16:1). See the next person you will be speaking to as an opportunity and use it well (Proverbs 15:23,28)
Prayer: Lord, make me successful in the examination
of speaking.
