THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. WORSHIP

WORSHIP

John 4:19-26
Devotional:- “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (v. 24) NKJV

For a believer to relate more and more closely with the Holy Spirit, one of the avenue that is vital is worship God. Since God is a spirit, then, you can only worship Him in the spirit. Worship is therefore only possible when we learn to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us to the father.

To worship God in spirit and in truth demands that we first understand the truth about God. The truth about God is what the Bible says about Him, because, the word of God is truth (John 17:17). The word of God tells us that God is the almighty God (Genesis-8:1). He is the God of glory (Acts 7:2). He is the father of light (James1:17). He is a wonderful and marvellous God. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the everlasting father (Isaiah 9:6; Revelation 17:14) etc. This truth then forms the basis on which you imagine God in your spirit as you behold Him with the eye of your spirit man.

Every time you worship God in spirit and truth, if you draw close to Him and He will draw close to you (Psalm 100:4, James 4:8). This makes your relationship with Him more cordial. Peace!

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, teach me to worship the father in truth
