JOY

JOY John 16:16-24  Devotional:- “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” (V. 20) NKJV God’s word says when sorrow endures till a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). This is an assurance and evidence that what is called sorrow is not a permanent situation in the life of a child of God. This is because it is certain that when a night comes, morning is always the next. The night is evidence of the coming morning. This is evidence that what you are going through right now will soon result in joy. In fact, the tougher it is, the closer the joy. May you see it. The scripture we read today gave us a new dimension of hope in our lives. Jesus said, our sorrow shall turn to joy. That which we think is a thing of sorrow shall suddenly become a thing of joy. Jesus likens it to a woman who is in labour. Women in this state often feel as if the end has come. But ...

ORIGINAL INTENTION

ORIGINAL INTENTION

Genesis 1:26-31
Devotional:- “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (V. 27) NKJV

God expresses His intention for making man in His word. This intention is that man will have dominion over all He has made (Genesis 1:26). In His intention there is a need for man to be like God to be able to fulfil this intention. That is why God made man to be supreme to all other creation. Man needs to be higher in capacity to all other creation to be able to govern the earth. This is the reason man need to be like God.

The word of God says we are created In the image and likeness of God. This is how we are made. But sin reduces man to be less than his original creation (Romans 3:23). This likeness is in having the same spirit of God in us at creation (Genesis 2:7). This likeness is in character and attitude of God. This likeness is in being able to love in relationship.

Friend, Jesus came to restore this likeness to man that sin had stolen away. That is why everyone need to turn to God through the Lord Jesus. He is the image of God to us (Romans 8:29). We all need to give ourselves to learning from Christ through His word till we are conformed to His Image i.e. we become like Him (2 Corinthians 3:18), then you can truly take your place in destiny. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to submit myself to learning from you.

UNTIL YOU ARE LIKE JESUS, YOU ARE NOT IN YOUR ORIGINAL STATE
