This is always the plan of the enemy. But I need to let you know that the moment you give up, you simply give up your destiny. Men may say so many things about you or let you feel you are doing nothing when you are putting in your best. Yet you must refuse to be discouraged.   David was a man who had cause to be discouraged in life, but he always refused. One such account is what we read tod...

A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST

A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST

Scripture: Luke 6:39-42
Devotional:-A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher (v.40) NKJV

Today there are many people in the church that are not disciples of Jesus. The plan of God for the church is that we might make disciples of the people on the earth (Matt 28:19). The first task therefore is that we should become a disciple of Christ. One of the reasons we are still in this world is that God might prepare us for eternity. That is the reason Jesus came to show us the life style of God as our model to make us fit in to God’s kingdom. To become like Christ we have to be His disciple.

A disciple of Jesus is the one who have encounter Christ (Luke 5:4-11). He has seen the power of God at work and not just what somebody said (1 John 1:1-3). According to our scripture today he is the one who want to be like Jesus. He/She is the one who have determined to live as Christ lived. A disciple of Jesus is the one who has made up his/her mind to follow Jesus. The motive behind his mind for following Jesus is to learn from Him and follow His examples.

The reason our needs are not met often time is because our motive for following Jesus is just to meet our personal needs. The moment our needs are met our commitment to Christ is often negotiated (John 6:26-27). Friend, Jesus is not coming for just anyone else but for only His disciples. You need to check your motive for been in the house of God. If it is not to be a follower of Christ then your motive is wrong. Those needs will no longer be a trouble because Jesus always meet the needs of those who follow Him (Matthew 6:33). It is time you check yourself and put things right between you and God. Peace.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be a faithful follower of Jesus

"YOU NEED TO BECOME LIKE JESUS TO ACCESS HIS KINGDOM"
