CARRYING THE CROSS
Scripture: Luke 9:23-27
Devotional:- "Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me" (v.23) NKJV
Disciples of Jesus must know that we must pass through pain to access our gain. It is not going to be easy to change from what we have grown up to be for several years. It will be painful experiences to unlearn the wrong we have been so used to and adjust to the will of God. God’s word says even Jesus suffer to learn obedience to God (Hebrews 5:8).
Each one has
to carry his/her own cross to be able to follow Christ. Cross here refers to inconveniences.
Until we are ready to go through inconveniences, we may not be able to adjust to
Christ. Pain is a sign of dislocation and the solution is to relocate to God.
God trains His own children with challenges and we don't call it problem
(Hebrews 12:6-11). A boxer need to fight to win. So, fighting is a challenge and
not a problem. So braze up and stop complaining or weeping. God is your father.
He loves you and cannot fail you (Deuteronomy 8:2-3). Refuse to turn back from following
the Lord notwithstanding your situation. Your faith is just been tested and
when you pass you will be promoted (James 1:12). God has prepared you for what
you are going through and He knows you can overcome (1 Corinthians 10:13). So
rise up and be strong. You will surely pass (Romans 8:18). Peace
Prayer –
Lord, give me the grace to stand strong.

strength to stand is in the standing“
