They can be used as a picture of yourself. You will notice that a lot of the time you have the privilege of conversing with people, something just keeps pushing you to continue talking until you overdo it. Then you’ll begin to say what you don't mean to say. Many a time, the volume of words that come out of our mouths is not what we have planned for or decided, but because we have not learned to caution our lips, which is an act of discipline. Such excessive words can later become instruments of tempt...

SERVING THE LORD

SERVING THE LORD

Joshua 24:8-21
Devotional:-“And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." v15

Serving the Lord or not serving the Lord is your choice. That is why you shall be justified or condemned by your choices. Many Christians don’t serve in the house of God. They have one reason or the other why? Probably, they see the church they attend not good enough to merit their involvement. Why don’t you volunteer to serve to effect a change? Probably they see the pastor not good enough, but why not begin to intercede that God will change him or her for good?

In our Scripture today, Joshua told the children of Israel to choose who they will serve. He only declared a bold statement before them all that, he and his family will serve the Lord. It is important you know that every man is serving something. If a man is not serving the Lord, then, he is serving the devil indirectly. Choose who you will serve.

Please know that you are saved to serve (Ephesians 2:10). If you are serving anywhere, please serve the Lord with joy, so that you will not serve the devil (Deuteronomy 28:47-48). Do you know that Jesus is coming for His servants and not lookers in the church (John 17:26)? Service is a sign of commitment to the Lord. God is only going to honour those that serves him (John 12:26). There are special blessings for those who serve the Lord (Exodus 23:25-26). Whatever is reasons you don’t serve God, is wrong. Pray and be lead to serve Him and you will stop serving troubles. Peace

Prayer: Lord, make me your servant forever

“A MAN WHO IS NOT SERVING GOD, WILL BE USELESS TO HIMSELF”
