A FRIEND

A FRIEND John 15:9-17  Devotional:- “...but l have called you friends…” (V. 15) In this generation, it is not a common thing to find true friends. This is someone who goes all out to see to your well-being. Someone who wants to identify with you in all situations. Someone who is not feeling fine until he sees you, someone who daily remembers to pray and intercede for you. It can be a terrible thing sometimes when you desire to share your mind with someone, and no one is willing to listen to you, or someone who could offer a little help. Sometimes we could be in need of a little encouragement, but no one to really do it. The people who are supposed to encourage us are the ones who misunderstand us and condemn us. We need to come to the understanding that God is our friend. He is not just your Lord and God. He always wants to listen to you. He is not happy when you are not (Hebrews 4:15). CHOICE OF JOY

CHOICE OF JOY

Habakkuk 3:17-19
Devotional:- “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” v18

It is important you know that your action of joy is your choice. Joy is not a gift but individual choice. When you see someone who is always rejoicing, it is not because he has a lot of money or have achieved all his goals. It is just because his choice is to keep rejoicing in the Lord, so if any one is sad, it is also their choice.

In our Scripture today is the experience of prophet Habakkuk. He saw many things not in the right place. But he made up his mind to keep rejoicing no matter what. That is a personal choice for him.

Friend, you need to choose a life of joy. Don’t abandon your life into the hands of situations around you. Don’t allow others to keep choosing the way you should live for you. Make your choices yourself. Remember, joy helps you stay in health (Proverbs 17:22). Joy makes you look good and great(Proverbs 15:13) Joy makes you to accommodate the presence of the Lord (Psalm 16:11) Remember, if you don’t make the choice to keep rejoicing, you have unconsciously make the choice to be sorrowful. Don’t let anything determine your mood or state of mind. Make a conscious choice and you will keep rejoicing. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, help me to make up my mind to keep rejoicing
