SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. That is why He made provi...

HABIT

HABIT

Joshua 7:16-26
Devotional- “When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it." Vs. 21

One terrible thing that has held many people down from experiencing their change is habit. Habits are attitude or practices we have allowed to dominate our lifestyle. There are good and bad habits. The bad ones are practices that could be detrimental to our progress in life. The moment people get used to such habits, the devil takes advantage of it and uses it as a factor of delay and destruction.

The man we read about today put himself and his family into terrible shame and destruction because of bad habit. This bad habit was covetousness. Most people use to think they will manage through with it but it is not manageable. If you have any bad habit, it is always better to deal with it before it deals with you. Any time God sees this life style in you, He sees no reason for releasing your promotion.

It may be that you are used to lying or stealing or adultery or wickedness or smoking or drinking alcohol. None of these will qualify you for your change. You need to know that God has been giving you a long rope to pull. That is, giving you warning to repent (2 Peter 3:9)

All you need to do is to see the need for change. Then, go back to God and repent before Him. Seek for the counsel of men of God and confess before them. Give more time to fellowship with the word of God and his people (John 15:3). Depart from any association that encourages such habits, then, your change shall come. And you will see your glory emerging.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from bad habits

“YOU NEED TO OVERCOME BAD HABIT NOW, SO THAT IT DOES NOT PUT SHAME ON YOUR DAY OF GLORY”
