SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. DANIEL’S CHOICE.

DANIEL’S CHOICE.

Daniel 1:3-15
Devotional:- “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” (Vs. 8)

Daniel was one of the people that the king of Babylon captured from Judah. The king appointed for them a daily provision of meat and drink. One will think that it was compulsory for them to eat whatever was given to them without a choice. But because Daniel knew that the king’s meat and drink will defile him and make him unacceptable to God, he choose to refuse the king’s food.

Daniel was not afraid of the consequence of the king’s wrath, if the king get to know that he refuses his own portion. His desire was to do God’s will every time, anywhere even in captivity. This choice later made Daniel to stand out among all others and God gave him favor and made him great (Daniel 1:20).

When you take your stand for God, you are honoring God, and God will always promote and defend you. The Lord will protect you even in the midst of your enemies. He did it to Daniel. He will do it for you. Always take a stand for God and He will give you victory.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to always stand for you.
