COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

STEWARDS

STEWARDS

1 Corinthians 4:1-7

Devotional Verse: -“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” (V. 1)

To be effective in our service to God, we must grow to know that we are stewards. The word steward is used in the word of God to describe Christians. A steward is the one entrusted with his master’s good. That is why the Bible says, we shall give account on the judgment day (2 Corinthians 5:10). The word of God says, all that we have are given and entrusted to us by God (John 3:27).

The word of God says, we are to be considered as servants and stewards of Christ. That is why each of us should be conscious and careful of how we use what God has entrusted into our care. Your body, your gifts and talents, your family, your spouse, your children, your energy, your resources and wealth, all belongs to the Lord (1 Corinthians 4:7). That is why you must settle the issue of money, if you will be a true servant of God (Matthew 6:24).

To be a true servant of God, you have to choose between serving money or ministry. God will test you to give out many times. That is why your motive must not be money. If not, you cannot serve God. Money has the tendency to replace God in the heart of people. When Jesus is your master, money serves you, but when money becomes your master, you become its slave. It is not wrong to make money, but true servant of God uses it to obey the Lord by using it to bless God’s kingdom. Your motive to get it should be to make you a blessing. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, help me not to fail you in the use of what you have given me

“WHAT YOU HAVE IS TRUSTED TO YOUR HAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVICE, YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT”
