HOW SERVANTS THINK

HOW SERVANTS THINK Numbers 14:11-25 Devotional:- “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” (V. 24).   To be a servant requires complete mental shift and change in attitude. Before God, attitude count more than achievement (2 Chronicles 25:2). So, when we look at how real servants think, they think more about others than themselves. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less (Philippians 2:4). Jesus takes the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7). We can measure our servant’s heart by how we respond when others treat us as servants. Real servants think like a steward and not owner. They keep in mind that God owns it all.  To become a real servant you’ve got to settle the issue of money in your life (Luke 16:13). Please understand that money has a great potential to replace God in our heart. When Jesus is your master...

PUT IN YOUR BEST

PUT IN YOUR BEST

Ecclesiastes 9:5-12
Devotional Verse:-“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going” (V. 10)

Service does not become profitable to man until he put in his best. Because of the humble nature of service in most time, one is not encouraged. That is why many easily give up in service. But everyone who had the best through service ignored the ridicule and put in their best.

The word of God says, whatever your hand find doing, do it with all your might. This means with all your heart. This is putting in your best with passion. Most people don't even appreciate other people's service, not to talk of encouraging what you are doing. Yet, God expect us to put in our best in service. This is by making ourselves available in the place of service (2 Timothy 2:4). And just been available carrying out your assignment with the whole of your heart. This is by serving joyfully with passion as you are instructed. Whatever you passionately do, you will be very effective in it (Deuteronomy 28:47-48).

Putting in your best demands that you serve with your mind along i.e. thinking of a better way to do what you are doing in a cheaper and easier way. Be part of those who motivate others by your example. See to it that your services are impacting others with grace and edifying others. Ultimately make sure that God is pleased with you and your services are reward-able. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, l need your grace to stand strong in service
