COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

SERVING HIS PURPOSE

SERVING HIS PURPOSE

Mark 1:32-39
Devotional Verse:-“But He said to them, "Let us go into the next towns that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth."(V. 38)

It is important we understand the motive and the focus for which God expect our services to be. God has a purpose He wants to fulfill on earth through our services. So many think they are serving God today, but outside the will of God. They keep committedly serving God in a wrong way. That is why we need to understand the purpose or the motive through which God is expecting us to serve Him. It is only in this purpose we can establish the will of God on earth.

Jesus said, for this purpose I have come. These purposes are the reasons we are here. Firstly, we should serve the Lord in a way that brings glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:3). Secondly, that we should serve God making all that we do to make the family of God stronger. Thirdly; we should serve God with the character and attitude of Christ (Philippians 2:5). Fourthly; we should serve the Lord to be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2). We should serve the Lord to make others know that they need to come to God (Matthew 28:18-20).

You can't be serving God with these motive and not please God. Serving God, but not in those purposes or motives will not be acceptable to Him. We will be able to do all we are doing in these purposes if we first totally surrender to Him as our Lord (Romans 12:1). Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, help me to always serve according to your purpose
