RIGHTEOUSNESS
2 Corinthians 5:14-21Devotional:- “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (V. 21) NKJV
It is because of the love of God that we are called the people of God today (Romans 9:25). This has created an eternal problem for the devil. In the Old Testament, many people tried to please God, but they were not able, and this brought destruction upon them. The Bible mentioned that Jesus, when He died, went to hell to free the saints (1 Peter 3:19). These are men who had lived all their lives to obey the law, yet were not able to reach the mark of righteousness.
Today, the righteousness they were not able to attain, we have effortlessly attained. This is not because we are better than they were, but because we are children born in due season. This is the righteousness referred to in the scripture as imputed righteousness (Romans 4:6-8). This righteousness is given to us through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:26).
Friend, stop condemning yourself (Romans 8:1). It is a trick of the devil to disqualify you before the Father by carrying a condemned mind. Even if you have sinned, the Bible tells us that there is forgiveness for us in Christ Jesus (1 John 1:7-9). The moment you are a child of God, you can enjoy God’s righteousness through faith in Christ. what you need to do is to stop a life of sin (Romans 6:1). That is, a genuine repentance. No matter the old story, the devil cannot accuse you anymore. Because of the love of Christ, today you can be referred to as a saint. Enter God’s presence with thanksgiving, and you will not be rejected (Psalms 100:4, John 6:37). Your barriers to God are already broken. If the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of the cross (1 John 3:8). You are already free.
Prayer: Lord, establish your righteousness in my life.
“A MAN DECLARED RIGHTEOUS BY GOD CAN NO MORE BE CONDEMNED.”
