COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

HUMILITY TO SERVE

HUMILITY TO SERVE

1 Peter 5:5-11
Devotional Verse: -“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time” (V. 6)

Service demands humility. As glorious as service is to the destiny of man, it can only be done when we are humble. God, in his wisdom has put the solution of each person's problem into the hand of others. Yet, when you are bringing solution to people, you still need to be humble before they will accept your services. Yes, people need your services to help them out, but you must be humble before they can allow you into their lives (Genesis 40:5-8).

The word of God says, we should be humbled for God to be able to exalt us. This is because; God gives grace to the humble. No matter how important what you are doing is, people will need to check your attitude before they accept you and allow you over their lives. Yes, they may need to pay you much later, but that will be after they have found you acceptable.

Friend, the spirit of pride will close the door God has created for you. Be mature to look away from the negative comment of men. Keep putting in your best as you serve. You are not sent to everyone and everyone doesn’t need to accept you. As you continue to humbly serve, God will bring people who will celebrate you and encourage you. Keep your profile low; soon, it will be up. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace of a humble heart.

“HUMILITY GIVES YOU A SOFT LANDING IN THE HEART OF PEOPLE”
