SELF DISCOVERY
John 1:19-28
Devotional Verse:-“He said: “I am 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Make straight the way of the Lord," ‘as the prophet Isaiah said." (V. 23)
One of the beauties of serving the Lord is that, it will make you discover who you are and who you are made to be or what you are made to do. When people don't know who they are, they run about in life trying to be like another person. Those who live like others may never be the original of themselves but a photocopy of another.
John the Baptist was asked to declare his self-identity and he said; "I am the voice of the one crying in the wilderness. The question is that, have you discovered who you are? Lack of self-identity will make a man to struggle in life, running on another man's track. The word of God says, we will run on our track and not break rank (Joel 2:7). In the course of serving the Lord, you stand the chance of discovering what you are good at doing and what you are made to do. Service helps you to know what you are passionate about and what you are not.
It is in the course of service that we get to know the talents and gifts that God have planted in us. This helps us to discover our value or what we can exchange for value in life. Without service, man will be so confused about his identity and the devil will give him a life time assignment against the Lord. Friend, you are made by God for God and not for the devil (Isaiah 43:21). Humble yourself to serve in the house of God, in your office and your destiny shall be discovered. Peace!
PRAYER: Lord, help me to be willing to serve your kingdom
