FORGIVING YOURSELF

FORGIVING YOURSELF Luke 22:54-62  Devotional:- “So Peter went out and wept bitterly.bitterly.” (V.62) NKJV Before a man can begin to enjoy the expressive love of God in his life, he must learn the act of self-forgiveness. Self-condemnation is always a terrible permission for the devil to take over in the life of a believer. This can make him lose his self-worth in God’s presence. It can make a believer lose his authority in Christ. It can make a believer lose his joy and build an environment of sorrow. And you need to know that the environment of sorrow removes from you the presence of God. He only dwells where there is fullness of joy (Psalms 16:11). Unforgiveness can make a man build an atmosphere of fear and then permit the presence of demons. This also breeds discouragement and frustration and makes the life of its victim miserable. The wonderful thing in the scripture we read today is that, though Peter denied Christ publicly and committed a grievous sin, he did not let...

CHOOSE TO SERVE GOD

CHOOSE TO SERVE GOD

Joshua 24:14-24
Devotional Verse:-“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (V. 15)

At creation, God made man a free moral agent. So, man is a creature of choice. Man is fashioned to process spiritual thing and be able to carry it out in the physical world by the use of our soul. So, by the soul of man, we can easily be used by either the spirit of God or the spirit of the devil to carry out their agenda on earth.

The servant of God, Joshua was used by the Lord to speak to the children of Israel of the need to make a choice of who to serve. Notice that they have to make their choice between God and idols. This is always the kind of situation man is always confronted with in many situation. The God of money and materials are always attempting to steal our heart from serving the Lord in truth (Luke 4:6-7). Immediate gratification is always a temptation inhibiting the choice of man to serve.

Friend, we are in a time that you can no longer trade anything with service of God. Make up your mind to serve your maker. Many have soil their garment of righteousness because of the things of this word. Make up your mind to serve God in all you do either at home, community or in the office. God is faithful to reward those who serve Him. You shall be rewarded in Jesus name. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to always choose to serve you.

“WHOEVER YOU CHOOSE TO SERVE IS YOUR LORD”
