STAND IN

STAND IN 1 Timothy 2:1-7  Devotional:- “Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God's mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them.” (v.1) TLB . When God lifts a man, such a man must have enjoyed the intercessory ministry of others. It is part of the principle of God for us to receive (Matthew 7:7). This is because He does not want to break into our free will and damage our choice. He does not want to break into our decision. That is why we say it sometimes when an event happens, "Did God not see it?” Until He is asked to do something, He finds it difficult to do it. Rather, if He wants to promote a man and the man is not aware, He will touch other people to pray for him.  That is why you and I must also be willing to pray and stand in the gap for others. Paul was instructing Timothy and all of us as members of the body of Christ to pray for others. There are so many people around you who need one thing or another. Even though you ca...

STOP THAT FEAR

STOP THAT FEAR

Matthew 14:22-33
“And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear” (V. 26) NKJV

The enemy has gained so much ground in the lives of some people that they are always afraid of everything. God’s word says “Fear has torment” (1 John 4:18), Fear is destructive to life and destiny. Fear would not let a man live to see fulfillment of his destiny. Since fear is the opposite of faith, no fearful man can exercise faith to receive from God.

Fear grows in the hearts of people who will not depend upon the assurance of the word of God. Such a life will be frustrating. It will also grow in the heart of someone who listens more to evil stories than good ones. Fear will also grow in the heart of someone who believes in what people are saying rather than what God says. Anyone who is always afraid is already captured by the devil. Where there is fear, the devil can always prevail.

In the scripture we read today, the disciples of Jesus became afraid because of what they saw. Jesus was walking on the sea, coming to help his disciples out of the storm, but they thought He was a ghost. People are always afraid of the unknown, failure, and death. Be careful of what you often allow in your thoughts (Proverbs 23:7).

To overcome fear, you need to begin to build your confidence in God by His word. You can always be afraid when you feel alone. To be confident is to live in the consciousness of the presence of God (Psalm 23:4, Joshua 1:5). Believe the word, always think the word, and build your confidence in it to stop the fear. Greater is He that is in you (I John 4:4). He that watches over you never sleeps nor slumbers (Psalm 121:4). He Is always with you. Jesus said we should not be afraid of the devil or death (Matthew 10:28). Jesus has swallowed death in victory. You shall not die but live to declare God’s glory.

PRAYER: LORD, STRENGTHEN ME TO BUILD CONFIDENCE IN YOUR WORD.
