ALL WORKING TOGETHER

ALL WORKING TOGETHER Romans 8:18-30 Devotional:- “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (v.28) NKJV Sometimes, because dates and times are rolling, we tend to start to think if the will of God will ever come to pass in our lives again. Some will ask, if God want to do it, why has He not done it all this while? This is a product of us waiting and expecting God to fulfil His promises in our lives within a time frame. And since time is going, we start to nurse some doubt about God’s ability and willingness to fulfil His promises in our lives. If you observe critically, most people come to that state simply because they compare their lives with others. But many of us often forget that God is taking us all the way through a different route to a different destination.  All that we need to do is to be sure that we discover and remain in the purpose of God for our lives. Others might look much ...

LOOSE TONGUE

LOOSE TONGUE

II Samuel 1:1-16
Devotional:- “So David said to him, "How was it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?” (V.14) NKJV

The greatest challenge in the life of some people is their loose tongue. That is a tongue that cannot be controlled. They open it to say all sorts of things. There is no word too heavy for them to utter. To them, it is a pleasure to abuse others. They see it as a game. So, in abusing no one must win them. They know all the words to describe and make a man feel troubled. Little do they know that they have taken to wrong path of life. James 1:26, 1 Peter 3:10,

The man we read about today put himself into great trouble because of his loosed tongue. He took pleasure in coming to report the death of the king. A loose tongue puts people in trouble (Proverbs 6:2). A word once said is not retrievable. If you have this weakness you have to grow out of it.

People trap themselves with their words. They expose their matter to their enemy unconsciously. They expose their spouse and destroy their family’s unity with their mouth. Many have problems today that are traceable to loose mouth at one time or the other.

To overcome this, learn to caution your lips. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Always weigh your word before you say it. Refrain your lips (James 1: 19). God’s word says even a fool is considered wise when he shuts his lips (Proverbs 17: 27-28). Let your words only bless. Stop cursing, let your word encourage and help people and not destroy them (Colossians 4: 6). Deny yourself of the carnal nature that wants to push you to talk loosely. Fill your heart with the word of God, and then your mouth will speak the word. Choose to speak the words of God rather than mere words. Stop emulating corrupt slang, slogans, or music. The Holy Spirit will take over your mouth for His glory. You are changing for good in Jesus name.

PRAYER: LORD, TOUCH MY TONGUE TO BUILD AND NOT TO DESTROY
