STAND IN

STAND IN 1 Timothy 2:1-7  Devotional:- “Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God's mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them.” (v.1) TLB . When God lifts a man, such a man must have enjoyed the intercessory ministry of others. It is part of the principle of God for us to receive (Matthew 7:7). This is because He does not want to break into our free will and damage our choice. He does not want to break into our decision. That is why we say it sometimes when an event happens, "Did God not see it?” Until He is asked to do something, He finds it difficult to do it. Rather, if He wants to promote a man and the man is not aware, He will touch other people to pray for him.  That is why you and I must also be willing to pray and stand in the gap for others. Paul was instructing Timothy and all of us as members of the body of Christ to pray for others. There are so many people around you who need one thing or another. Even though you ca...

BAD HABIT

BAD HABIT

II Kings 5:11-26
Devotional:- “But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, "Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the LORD lives, I will run after him and take something from him” (V. 20) NKJV

So many people on earth would have been successful except for the bad habits in their lives. Such grows in our lives when we are careless about them. We are creatures made to be able to create habits. There are success habits and there are failure habits. Success habits will guarantee you success and failure habits will surely bring failure. Habits are what we are used to but it is no longer easy to depart from. People would have corrected us but we refused to listen. We need to be aware that bad habits are there to ruin our lives. You must therefore be willing to see its end before it sees your end.

The man we read about today is one of the most privileged men that ever lived. He should have automatically become the next prophet in Israel. He is the next in command to the prophet. Many people are already expecting the next mantle to fall on him. The rest of the prophets in the land will always envy him, simply because he was the next expected prophet. But this bad habit in his life would not let him get there. He was greedy; he went and accepted the gift his master rejected and ended up his destiny.

Friend, do not let any habit stop your success. Pull out of the association that locks you with this habit (Proverb 13:20). Choose the company of achievers, children of God, and men of honour. Introduce the opposite of that bad habit and ask the Holy Spirit to destroy this habit in your life. Regularly listen to the word of God. Soon your life will change and your glory shall come.

PRAYER: LORD, STRENGTHEN ME TO DESTROY THE BAD HABIT IN ME BEFORE IT DESTROYS ME.

“A BAD HABIT NOT DESTROYED WILL DESTROY DESTINY”
