SPIRIT OF WISDOM

Image
SPIRIT OF WISDOM I Corinthians 2:6-10 Devotional:- “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory” (V.7) NKJV      The mind of every man is created to operate wisdom even at the level of common sense. This is one of the reasons why many are poor. The reason why this is so is that most human beings do not know how to empower their mind for wisdom with the right and quality information. They rather believe that life is all about making do with everything that comes their way. Wrong information and association have made many minds dull (Proverbs 13:20).

GO IN THIS MIGHT

Image
GO IN THIS MIGHT Judges 6:11-24 Devotional:- “Then the LORD turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?" (V14) NKJV      It is the strategy of the enemy to make us feel we are not adequate. Since he desires to see us fail, he always tries to give us the wrong information. When we pass through trying times, the devil does all things to make us feel God has left us and that we cannot make it. He does many things to break our hearts and make us weak in the Spirit, but you must not allow him to win over you.

MASTER’S MINAS

Image
MASTER’S MINAS Luke 19:11-27 Devotional:- “So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come” (V. 13) NKJV      The word of God instructs us to do business. The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

MIND YOUR BUSINESS

Image
MIND YOUR BUSINESS   I Thessalonians 4:9-12 Devotional:- “that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you” (V.11) NKJV      In the way God created us, we are made to be effective when we learn the act of focus. God’s word says, if your eyes are single your whole body shall be full of light (Matthew 6:22). In other words, you can only be your best when you stay focused. Just like a lens can transfer heat to burn a piece of paper when focused in the direction of the sun, so also, is the strength of your focus.

YIELD TO THE SPIRIT

Image
YIELD TO THE SPIRIT Romans 8:12-17 Devotional:- “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (V. 14) NKJV      Not many in churches today are children of God. They come only to enjoy the goodness of God’s presence. They become committed to the service of God not because they love the Lord but for what they want to get. So, when the going gets tough, they easily turn back. They would question their time of fasting and prayers.

FEAR NOT

Image
FEAR NOT I Samuel 17:2-11 Devotional:- “When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid” (V. 11) NKJV      Fear is one of the things that destroys strength in a believer’s life. No wonder God says it in 365 times in His word: “Fear not”. It is often said that what man fears is what will eventually happen to him (Job 3:25). We usually become afraid when we are intimidated by situations. Tins happen when we feel we cannot win the forces against us (Numbers 13:33).

PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT

Image
PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT Jude 20-25 Devotional:- “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit” (V.20) NKJV      Praying in the Spirit is praying in the tongue of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians are neglecting the power of praying in the spirit. Many of us see it as something of old-fashioned. This is because we do not know the power it carries. Praying in the Spirit is speaking the language of heaven. It is speaking mysteries (1 Corinthians 14:2). It is speaking at a dimension of the spirit since it is the Spirit that understands the language of the Spirit.

HAVING PEACE

Image
HAVING PEACE Isaiah 48:12-22 “Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea” (V.18) NKJV        The world today is fast losing grip of peace. So many terrible things have become instrumental to the destruction of the peace of the world. Even media news has become a factor that reduces peace. So many wicked acts are carried out regularly and most men have no peace in their lives. With all the security in the world today, men still lack peace. The development of technology should have reduced insecurity but it is rather multiplying the panic.

OVERCOMING FRUSTRATION

Image
OVERCOMING FRUSTRATION John 21:3-11 Devotional:- “Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing” (V. 3) NKJV      One of the terrible experiences of life is frustration. It is always the case when our expectations are defeated. Many are frustrated when matters come to a hopeless situation and they do not really know what to do. That is the reason we need to understand what causes frustration. God has not planned this for us. This only happens when we refuse to take to the wisdom of God or when we are not willing to wait patiently for God’s time and programme.

PROTECT YOUR HEART

Image
PROTECT YOUR HEART  Proverbs 4:20-27 Devotional:- “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (V. 23) NLT      Everyone is born with a strength capable of rising to greatness. In every growing child is a seed of greatness. It is this strength that makes the youth so creative and energetic. That is why each young person looks at the future with great hope. The enemy tries to destroy this strength. As strong as many started in life, not many could strike the chord of success because their strength was destroyed.

RELATIONSHIP

Image
RELATIONSHIP Ecclesiastes 4:6-12 Devotional:- “Two can accomplish more than thrice as much as one, for the result can be much better” (V. 9) TLB           God has not created man to succeed alone. God’s word says two are better than one. If you alone can achieve a thing two can achieve five. It is a pity today that the enemy is highly destroying the opportunities for relationships in the lives of people. He knows it’s only in unity we can stand. So, he is doing so much to separate friends, relations and marriages. So many people today don’t even bother with how they relate with other people; they hate others and do not have a genuine reason for hating them.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Image
YOUR THOUGHTS Proverbs 23:1-9 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, But his heart is not with you” (V.7 ) NKJV      It is of great importance that we choose the spirit that rules over our hearts. That is, we determine what we allow there. It is in our hearts that all we do in life is imagined. The product of our heart is our thoughts and the product of our thoughts is our words and actions (Matthew 12:34-35). No one can be stronger than his thought.

SELF-FORGIVENESS

Image
SELF-FORGIVENESS I John 1:5-10 Devotional:- “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (V. 9) NKJV      To many people, one of the hardest things in their life is to forgive themselves. Do you know that it could even be easier for them to forgive others? Many people have destroyed themselves because they can’t forgive themselves. This trick has been highly used by the devil to steal many things in the life of people.

LIVING ABOVE DISCOURAGEMENT

Image
LIVING ABOVE DISCOURAGEMENT Nehemiah 2:17-20 Devotional:- “So I answered them, and said to them, "The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no heritage or right or memorial in Jerusalem"” (V. 20) NKJV      Discouragement is a disease that easily destroys people's strength on the way to their achievement. This often comes when we are not focused enough. The devil then uses people to discourage us. He could use negative or bad comments to discourage us. That is the reason we must learn to live above discouragement. The goal of discouragement is to stop us from running the race of our destiny on earth. Looking at what happened to Nehemiah in our scripture today, he was living above discouragement. God has given him the burden of a work, and he has received direction and understanding of how to go about it, but the enemy used Samballat and Tobiah to mock the work.

OVERCOMING THE FORCES

Image
OVERCOMING THE FORCES 2 Samuel 23:8-10  Devotional:- “He arose and attacked the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand stuck to the sword. The LORD brought about a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to plunder” (V. 10) NKJV      We are in a world of battle and you must be willing to face the fight if you are one of the winners. Jesus did not promise us a battle-free life and the way out will not be to back out. He that backs out of battle accepts defeat. God’s word says God will not allow temptation that is more than us to happen to us. That is why God never expects us to lose in life’s battle. He has kept in you what is more than what you are facing and potentials greater than your challenges (1 John 4:4).

LOVING YOUR WORK

Image
LOVING YOUR WORK Ecclesiastes 9:7-9 Devotional:- “Go, eat your bread with joy, And drink your wine with a merry heart; For God has already accepted your works” (V. 7) NKJV      When a man puts diligence into his work, he will earn great wages. Our ability to work is what God has given to us to make our living and fortune. He that is lazy will not be rich (Proverbs 14:23). In this part of the world there is something good about us and that is we believe in working. That is biblical (2 Thessalonians 3:10). But I have found one great evil in the world today. That is, people working but hating their work. Most people do not know that whatever they hate cannot give them its best. This is because they will not put in their best. Very many people hate going to the office, they love pleasure than working. (Proverbs 21:17). I believe this is a misplacement of priority. Working is really pleasurable. This is because it is work that will bring your harvest while the so-called pl...

DISTRACTING DISTRACTION

Image
DISTRACTING DISTRACTION Matthew 6:21-24 Devotional:- “The light of the body is the eye; if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light” (V. 22) KJV      One way the devil works out defeat and failure in people's lives is through distraction. Distraction is a great enemy on the road to success. It has successfully held so many people hostage. You will not be its victim in Jesus name.

MENTAL STRENGTH

Image
MENTAL STRENGTH Luke 2:41-47 Devotional:- “All who heard him were amazed at his intelligent answers”. (V. 47) G.B      Man needs to always appreciate God for the wonderful brain He has given him. All we can see today as technological development are product of the human mind. And I want to say that we have not seen anything yet. I expect a time to come when there will be individual car-size aircraft in our houses like the car; and many other greater things conceived in my heart.

REFUSE DOUBT

Image
REFUSE DOUBT 2 Kings 7:1-11 Devotional:- “So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, "Look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" And he said, "In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it” (V.2) NKJV      Doubt is one of the enemies we need to learn how to fight and overcome. It is an enemy of our faith for victory and success. A doubter is someone who allows the natural view of life to supersede the supernatural in his mind. He accepts the facts of life to be more real than the truth of the word of God. People become doubtful when they feel disappointed by their faith in God. Even though God cannot fail, because of our impatience and ignorance we sometimes conclude that God has failed us. This automatically develops doubt in our minds. Please know that our impatience cannot make God do things at odd times. He walks with time. That is why our faith should be with patience (Hebrews...

REFUSE DEPRESSION

Image
REFUSE DEPRESSION I Samuel 16:19-23 Devotional:- “After that, whenever the bad depression from God tormented Saul, David got out his harp and played. That would calm Saul down, and he would feel better as the moodiness lifted.” (V.23) MSG      Due to the numerous challenges facing people in the world today, many are always depressed. This often happens to people when all their expectations have been defeated. This is because men refuse to acknowledge God in their understanding and try to make it by themselves. Jesus says without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).

OVERCOMING OPPRESSION

Image
OVERCOMING OPPRESSION Luke 9:37-42 Devotional:- “ And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father” (V. 42) NKJV      One force or the other often oppresses people today.   The devil knows how to torment people secretly. In most cases, only the victims know what they are going through. Precisely, it is the spirit of the devil that oppresses humans. Many have been robbed of good sleep and rest. Others don’t enjoy being alive anymore. The boy we read about today was also under the oppression of the devil. This force made him fall down and sometimes threw him inside fire. This force disgraced him everywhere by making him fall to the ground and foam in the mouth. Such disease will even make some roll on the floor in public or make them scratch their body with stones.

REGAINING YOUR LOSS

Image
REGAINING YOUR LOSS   Luke 5:1-8 Devotional:- “But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."”  (V. 5) NKJV      Sometimes in life, we put so much effort into our work. We sometimes invest so much money into a business expecting a substantial dividend, but we eventually find everything turns out to be a loss. Some people have experienced a kind of loss that has broken their courage to pursue success in life.

AVOID FALLING

Image
AVOID FALLING 2 Samuel 11:1-5 Devotional:- “Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king's house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold” (V. 2) NKJV      All of us must have this registered in our mind that the enemy is not only aiming to attack us but to also bring us down totally. What does it mean to fall? It is to be pushed or lured into sin. The devil is always looking for a way to make a man that is standing to fall. He is much after the leaders especially. He is aiming to destroy their testimonies and stain their glorious garments. God’s word says he came to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We don’t need to be afraid of this but be watchful.

OVERCOMING SIN

Image
OVERCOMING SIN Romans 6:5-18 Devotional:- “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace” (V.14) NIV      Many today are struggling to overcome sin in their lives.  We also have many others who willingly submit to the rulership of sin regularly. But the truth is that many know the evil and wicked consequences of sin. For example, we all know that fornicating around endangers our health and mind (Proverbs 6:26). Also, every bad habit intends to make us a failure. Yet many will not stop committing them and so many lives and destinies have been destroyed.

HEALING THE SICK

HEALING THE SICK II Kings 5:1-14 Devotional:- “So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy” (V. 14) NIV      The power of God is still available to heal people as of old, but so many children of God are not willing to know and to do what it takes. Today, Christians experience sickness as unbelievers. Such things like this have made the world often compare our God with theirs. God said He will  put a difference between His own and those that are not His (Exodus 8:22-23). From now you will become proof of the power of God.

DESTROYING BARRENESS

Image
DESTROYING BARRENESS 2 Kings 4:8-17 Devotional:- “Then he said, "About this time next year you shall embrace a son." And she said, "No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!” (V16) NKJV      There are many Christians today who are barren. Some are barren in their business, others in academics, and others in their family life. Barrenness means not being productive. God has ordained man to procreate and be productive. And His word says there shall be no one barren in our house. Not even our animals (Exodus 23:26). We therefore need to know that barrenness is not a lifestyle for a child of God. Whatever causes it is not the matter; God shall destroy it in your life. His will and His word shall be fulfilled in your life from now.

DESTROYING THE ARROW

DESTROYING THE ARROW 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 Devotional:- “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary they have divine power to demolish strongholds” (V. 4) NIV      Sometimes as a child of God, you are faced with the attack of the enemy. You see the devil trying to stop or hinder your way. He will even want to afflict you with sickness and diseases. Sometimes you will find something unusual happening in your body. Some of these are arrows of the enemy. The enemy intends to threaten your faith and make you doubt your protection in God.

GETTING JOB

Image
GETTING JOB Ecclesiastes 9:10-12 Devotional:- “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going” (V10) NKJV      The economic situation in many countries has caused many people to become jobless. Statistics show that a good percentage of people are without a job, especially in this part of the world. This has led many families into a financial mess and has caused an increase in crime. You as a child of God must not remain a victim of joblessness. Sometimes we make our certificate a barrier to ourselves from getting jobs or creating jobs. Many people are higher than the jobs available. But you should know that it is a sin not to be working and yet be eating. (2 Thessalonians 3:10). As much as there are jobs and advertisements of vacancies, as many are jobless people.

RELEASING OTHERS

Image
RELEASING OTHERS Luke 17:1-4 Devotional:- “And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him” (V.4) NKJV      It is easy to say “Away with Him, kill him” when you are not the one to be killed. Parents would bitterly discipline their children for an offence they too had committed in the past and were not killed.

LOVING THE LORD

Image
LOVING THE LORD  John 14:19-24 Devotional:- “Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (V. 23) NKJV      It is important that we as believers truly love the Lord. It is only those who love the Lord that will enjoy the best of God. Do not be part of Christians who handle the things of God carelessly. No one can stay distant and enjoy the best of a relationship. Therefore, you must grow your love for God if you are His child.

KNOWLEDGE

Image
KNOWLEDGE Proverbs 24:1-6 Devotional:- “A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength” (V.5) NKJV      God created you a triune being. You are a spirit; you have a soul and you live in a body. Each of these parts of you must be strong to rise in life. For your soul to grow, you must give her the right food which is knowledge   (James 1:21). This will bring you to fulfillment and success in life. God’s word says it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge (Proverbs 19:2). All that the enemy tries to achieve in your life is to keep you in ignorance, since he knows that ignorance is what destroys (John 10:10, Hosea 4:6). You must not allow ignorance to have a place in your life. You must be ready to search to find the knowledge you need for strength to rise in life.

DECLARE LIGHT

Image
DECLARE LIGHT Genesis 1:1-5 Devotional:- “Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light” (V. 3) NKJV      It is amazing to see how man, in the great strength of God, still demonstrates ignorance. Man has a tradition that when he faces a problem, he first looks for whom to blame. And many times, we just stop there.

FEED ON THE WORD

Image
FEED ON THE WORD Joshua 1:6-9 Devotional:- “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (V. 8) NKJV      Man often makes the mistake of building his body but not his soul. Since man is not the body but the spirit, he that does not build his soul is weak though he is building his body.  To build your soul, you need to feed it with the word of God (James 1:21). Jesus said, “The words I speak to you are spirit and life”. In other words; it carries a spirit that will turn your life to what it should be. Information brings reformation. Information is the vehicle of the spirit.

I CAN

Image
I CAN Daniel 2:14-33 Devotional:- “So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation” (V. 16) NKJV      At creation, God invested His ability in man. Adam was like a new baby in the hand of God and God was in him. That was why the devil was jealous. Adam was another godlike being. All the great potential of the mighty God was packaged inside him, so also with you. If the potential in you is fully released, the whole world cannot contain the proof of your worth.

REVELATION

Image
REVELATION Galatians 2:1-6 Devotional:- “And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain” (V. 2) NKJV      One of the benefits of the relationship with God is that you increase daily in the knowledge of His word. This gives you joy and delight in your Christian walk (Psalm 1:2). When you see a growing Christian, he will be happy and full of excitement about his adventure. On the contrary, Christians who experience dryness in their relationship with God don’t find joy and peace in their lives.

MANIFEST PRESENCE

Image
MANIFEST PRESENCE Acts 10:34-43 Devotional:- “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (V38) NKJV      In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve experienced the Shekinah (manifested presence) glory of God. Some believers today Wonder how wonderful events take place in the lives of other believers than themselves. Sometimes, they think it is because they are more prayerful; but that is not so. What makes the difference is the presence of God.

WALKING WITH GOD

Image
WALKING WITH GOD Genesis 17:1-8 Devotional:- “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless” (V. 1) NKJV      God did not create us for fluctuating experiences in life. That some days are okay, and the other days are not well cannot be the plan of God for His children. God’s word says the path of the just is like a light that is ever getting brighter (Prov. 4:18). Abraham and his wife at a time decided to walk out of the will of God because of their challenges. They wanted to see if they could help God’s Covenant promises to come to pass. But when the case began to boomerang, God called him to order and charged him to walk perfectly before Him.

TIME WITH GOD

Image
TIME WITH GOD Luke 6:12-16 Devotional:- “Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God” (V. 12) NKJV      You need to know that it is the breath of the Almighty that created you. His Spirit dwells in you from the very moment you believe. Therefore, the more time you spend with your source the stronger you will be just like a fish will gain more strength when it is in water, so you are when you walk with God. He said we can of our own do nothing (John 15:5). You are here on assignment for him; He saved you to use you for His glory in the world (Isaiah 43:21). You will be wise to create quality time to be with Him.

PEACEFUL BLESSING

Image
PEACEFUL BLESSING Joshua 7:16-26 Devotional:- “When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it” (V.21) NKJV      God demonstrated His mighty power and delivered the children of Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and He brought them to their promised land. But as soon as they took over the promised land, a small nation defeated them in battle and they were embarrassed. They didn’t know that one man had just wrongly acquired wealth among them which set God against them. Then God allowed their enemies to defeat them. When an inquiry was made, Achan was discovered to have taken and hidden what God said they should not touch. He wanted to be smart enough to get rich quickly, not knowing that it was the way of destruction.

DON’T AVENGE

Image
DON’T AVENGE I Samuel 26:7-21 Devotional:- “The LORD forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the LORD's anointed. But please, take now the spear and the jug of water that are by his head, and let us go" (V11) NKJV      Every man who is offended always wants to avenge. That is what the canal nature teaches us, but the word of God teaches us not to avenge ourselves (Romans 12:19).

SEE THE WAY

Image
SEE THE WAY Revelation 3:7-12 Devotional:- “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name” (V. 8) NKJV      Several times when the children of God pray for open doors, they should rather pray for the opening of their eyes (Ephesians 1:17-18). Many people are suffering amid plenty. Someone said, gold is everywhere but few open their eyes to see it. Jesus said” l am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). Jesus has the key of David and that is unfailing key. The master key (Revelation 3:17).

WHAT DO YOU SEE

Image
WHAT DO YOU SEE Genesis 15:1-6 Devotional:- “Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be" (v. 5) NKJV      God has built in each of us a wonderful mind that is capable of producing the strength for our victory. That is why the enemy works hard to always corrupt our minds with negative information. But you and I have the responsibility of guarding our minds.

SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

Image
SWORD OF THE SPIRIT Hebrew 4:6-13 Devotional:- “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (V. 12) NKJV      A sword is an important weapon of battle. It is a major weapon your enemies see and get scared, know that with it, you can kill and overcome. A sword is too delicate to play with. So those who go to war know that it is important. It will therefore be dangerous as a Christian that you live your life in this world of battles without a sword.

HELMET OF SALVATION

Image
HELMET OF SALVATION 1 John 5:1-5 Devotional:- “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith” (V. 4 )NKJV      God is a victorious God. So, when a man is adopted into sonship with God, the spirit of victory enters into him. This is what a man receives at new birth. God’s word says, that as many as believe in Him, He gave them the power to become the sons of God (John 1:12). The power of God that makes a man to become a child of God comes with strength for victory. So God’s word says whatever is born of God wins.

SHIELD OF FAITH

Image
SHIELD OF FAITH Hebrew 11:30-40 Devotional:- “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days” (V. 30) NKJV      No one can handle any of the weapons of the Spirit successfully without faith. Shield of faith is one of the major weapons that works to establish our hearts in victory. Thank God for the ministry of prophets, but that has turned many weak and there is no need to grow in faith forgetting that the minister cannot always be with you. That therefore necessitates your personal growth.
