Sometimes our challenges make us lose focus on God. We need to realise that this is the trick of the devil. He only wants to smartly disconnect us from our source. And a river that is disconnected from its source will soon dry up.   Abraham was looking for his own way to make things happen in his life and started losing focus on God by getting another wife to fulfil the promise of God. SERVING THE LORD

SERVING THE LORD

Ephesians 6:1-9
Devotional:- “with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men” (v.7) NKJV

One of the mysteries you will need to climb up is service. This is using your strength to strengthen others. It is lifting the weak. It is helping someone to become. It is equipping others to be great. Many people have not discovered that the way to be great in God is to become humble (James 4:10, 1 Peter 5:6). A strong proof of humility is the willingness to serve. Jesus said, Whoever wants to be great should be willing to be a servant (Mark 10:42-45).

If you are aiming to become great in your life, embrace service. Stop avoiding being used as a servant anywhere you are. Until you discover that you are living for the benefit of others, you may not find fulfilment in life.

We need to note that when we yield ourselves to serve, we are bound to face challenges from ignorant bosses. This does not mean we giving bad services. God’s word says that our service should be unto the Lord and not unto men (Ephesians 6:7-8). So do all you can do in that house, school, or office as unto the Lord. He is the only one who can reward service, Salary is not always the best reward for service. That is why the word of God has great promises for servants only. He promises divine protection, healing, blessing, and promotion (Exodus 23:25-27, John 12:26).

Stop serving men and money. Be God’s servant in your office. This does not mean you should not be paid for what you do, but money should not be our main motivator. Our strong motive should be the kingdom of God. Our services should be as unto the Lord. He is a faithful rewarder (Hebrews 11:6). Serve Him with your time, talent, and substance. You can sponsor the spreading of the gospel of the kingdom of God. It’s your turn to be rewarded and promoted. Congratulations!
