Sometimes our challenges make us lose focus on God. We need to realise that this is the trick of the devil. He only wants to smartly disconnect us from our source. And a river that is disconnected from its source will soon dry up.   Abraham was looking for his own way to make things happen in his life and started losing focus on God by getting another wife to fulfil the promise of God. WRONG COUNSEL

WRONG COUNSEL

1 Samuel 17:25-36
Devotional:- “And Saul said to David, "You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth" (v.33) NKJV

Everyone living on the earth carries great and mighty potential that could change the world and make their world great. Every great invention we can see in the world today, ranging from electronics, to computers to automobiles, and many more, are all products of the great potential God deposited in man. Do you know that you are also greatly endowed?

There is something that can make your greatness silent and undiscovered, and that is when you listen only to the negative counsel of people. These are people who often tell you that you can’t do something special or make you feel you are too small to attempt what you are about to do.

Also, if you always listen to positive counsel, then the greatness inside you will be able to manifest, and then you can be your best. Inside, David is the ability to deliver a nation from their enemy, Goliath the Philistine, but he is faced with different kinds of negative counsel. If he had listened to negative counsel that day, he would not have been able to overcome the Philistines.

Be careful, therefore, of the kind of people you are listening to, the kind of books you reading, the kind of film you are watching. All of these are part of what will determine your decision to go forward in life, even amid challenges. Be careful of who is speaking to you (Mark 4:24). That goes a long way to determine what you will be able to do or not. Something great is about to take off in your life. You will soon begin to see the grace of God shining in your life, and your glory will be revealed.

PRAYER: LORD, HELP ME TO ALWAYS LISTEN TO WHAT WILL BRING OUT YOUR GLORY IN MY LIFE.
