SETBACK

SETBACK Genesis 39:10-21 Devotional:- “Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison” (v.20) NKJV Most people do not yet understand that what we call a setback, a lot of time is a set-up to set us to our top. Setback, as viewed by people, is demotion, but it is rather an opportunity to retreat and re-fire for greater victory. When the purpose of a thing is not known, men are bound to abuse it. Today, we read about Joseph, who was thanking God for being promoted from a slave to a house overseer. He always tried to put his best into his assignment, and by this, he always had joy. At this time, the enemy wanted to damage his testimony by the temptation of sin, but he stood his ground for God (2 Timothy 2:22). But then he faced something like a demotion to prison. This looks like an act of wickedness from God that he was trying to please, but Joseph knew that there is a price for righteo...

NEVER COVER UP

NEVER COVER UP

2 Samuel 11:14-26
Devotional:- “And he wrote in the letter, saying, "Set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck down and die'” (v.15) NKJV.

When men sin, the next thing that often comes to the minds of men is how to cover up. This is the way some people live their lives. They often think in their mind that everyone is doing it, and it is only because they cover up that they are not caught. But we all need to know that God is a merciful God. When a man covers his sin, the guilty conscience will not let him have peace.

When David sinned with the wife of Uriah, he started looking for ways to cover it, so that people would not know, forgetting that God already knew. So, he persuaded the man to go and sleep with his wife, but he refused. So King David now decided to terminate the life of the man, thinking this would be eternal coverage. Little did he consider that time that what is covered to man is not covered to God (Proverbs 15:3; Proverbs 28:13).

Friend, if you keep covering your sin, it will lead you to commit more grievous sins. It is not possible to hide from God; stop patching up. Though you may not be able to tell anyone, tell it to God. If you feel the need to say it out look for a very mature minister of God and tell him; let him pray with you. I believe if David had called that man with wisdom and told him, God could have had mercy on him and not let the case be as that (Proverbs 28:13). Do you know that asking for the help of the Lord can deliver you from any of such trouble? Do you know that God can help you touch the heart of people so that they will forgive and forget (Proverbs 21:1)? Don’t implicate yourself further. Jesus died for your liberty. If you tell Him, He will forgive you and you will be free to fly. Peace!

PRAYER: LORD, LET ME ALWAYS ENJOY THE LIBERTY OF YOUR MERCY.
