But the Bible says the eyes of God are on every place, keeping watch on the evil and good (Prov. 5:13). Wickedness is an act of removing from others and adding to your own. Whether you do it in school, home, office, or in your business, it is altogether a trick of the devil to bring sudden destruction to life. The devil knows all that men need, particularly money. So, he will encourage them to have it in the wicked way. He will show them examples of people who had made it through wicked...

Luke 18:9-14
Devotional:- “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (v.14) NKJV.

Many people do not understand that when God is absent from whatever we do, we make success far from ourselves. When a man is prospering in a godly way, it is just because God is backing him. One of the things that can push God out of the life of anyone is pride. The only kind of people that God will always release grace for increase to are the humble (James 4:6).

Our scripture today taught us to always be humble. This is what will make us acceptable before the Lord. And since he accepts us, he will surely prosper us. A Pharisee came to pray and began to boast in his righteousness. But a tax collector realised his state before the Lord and was not proud but humble. And Jesus said he went home justified, that is, he went home acceptable and approved of God.

God’s word says, “God opposes the proud (i.e., He stands on their way of progress) but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourself therefore under God’s mighty hand, that we may lift you in due time” (1 Peter 5:5-6). No matter how high a man may be, pride will bring him down (Daniel 4:36-37; Proverbs 11:2). It is always the trick of the devil to destroy our lifting, so avoid it.

Friend, humble yourself that God may exalt you. This is the reason for the delay in the destiny of many people today. Do not let anyone push you to be proud. Please value others and be careful with the way you talk to them. Some don’t always talk but are proud in heart (Matthew 5:3,6). Value your life and be humble so that God may add value to you. You will enjoy God’s grace from now on.

PRAYER: LORD, DESTROY THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE IN ME THAT IT MAY NOT DESTROY ME.

GOD’S WAY TO THE TOP IS BY BEING ABASED”
