EXERCISING SPIRITUAL MUSCLE

EXERCISING SPIRITUAL MUSCLE

1 Timothy 4:1-11
Devotional:- “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come” (v.8) NKJV.

Children of God should come to the awareness of the importance of spiritual exercise. A likelihood of this can be learnt from physical exercise. Someone who is exercising physically will keep fit by becoming strong and fresh. This will make such a person strong and adaptable. It will make the nerves free and be easy route for blood and water to flow around the system for healthy living. Such a body will be strong enough to carry out any given task and find it easy to resist diseases since there is no place for anything dirty to hide in the system.

So also is the spiritual exercise. It will help you to strengthen your spirit and make you feel fresh spiritually. It will make your spirit strong and easily adaptable. It will make your spirit soft, simple, and the Holy Spirit will find it easy to flow through you. Then you will be able to live a healthy Christian life, You will find it easy to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit. So, joy, peace, love, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control will be natural with you.

Such a person will find it easy to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and frustration and discouragement will not find it easy staying with him.

To practice spiritual exercise. You need to learn to set time aside daily to worship, pray, and meditate upon God’s word. And you will find your spiritual life smooth and sweet. This will, in turn, affect your entire life for glory. Be determined to consistently have a time for personal devotion with God early in the morning and at night. Deny yourself from now to always do that, and your life will be wonderfully sweet.

PRAYER: LORD, STRENGTHEN ME TO ALWAYS EXERCISE SPIRITUALLY.

“A MUSCLE NOT EXERCISED WILL SOON BE STIFF AND CAN EASILY BREAK DOWN”.
