The kingdom of God is for those who are poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3), that is, those who are simple enough to accept the simplicity of God without denying the power in it. Unless you take the kingdom as children, you may not be able to enjoy the best of it. This is because many have become so used to the name of Jesus that it has lost its power to them. The scripture described the name as a strong tower (Proverbs 18:10). When you run into it, you shall be saved. Therefore, you ...

PLEASURE

PLEASURE

Proverbs 21:13-20
Devotional:- “He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not be rich” (v.17) NKJV

It is of great importance that we consider something that may make it difficult for us to manage our nest level, one of such is pleasure. Pleasure mentality has become a big weight on the neck of some people’s destiny. Pleasure mentality is doing things only for the fun of it. Doing things only to get the enjoyment out of it, and not having the purpose in mind.

Doing things with an unserious mind. Misinterpreting looseness to be freedom. Taking indiscipline and idleness to be fun. Desiring to get something to show others that you are there. Many of these things are not outrightly wrong, but when that is your main purpose of pursuit. It may produce frustration, for it will lack divine support.

I found out that people have this nature in their lives as it emanates from their poverty mentality. They are envious of people's cars, houses or offices as though they are already in heaven. So they pray and desire in their hearts to have such so that they can also have the same pleasures. They always think of having money to begin to go about all the kitchens in town. They cherish sleeping, eating, and playing more than working. They love to drive about or sit in someone’s car to be driven about in the town for no particular goal. They always look for free food. They complain about every assignment but rejoice in holidays.

God’s word says, he that loves pleasure shall be poor. In other words, even if they are rich now, they are coming down. Such people have no future. There is only a future for your wealth when you love to labour. Commit yourself to the pursuit of your destiny. Sit down and work. The real pleasure is to achieve your goal. Soon, it will be normal for you to drive big cars, live in a beautiful house, and even travel abroad. You are growing up.
