STRENGTH IN GOD

STRENGTH IN GOD 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 Devotional:- “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” (V4) NKJV      Many Christians today have so much confusion about their strength in God. It has made the church think that a few limited people can demonstrate the strength of God. So, multitudes are weak in strength. Though they come to church, yet in times of challenges, you see them rushing to another Christian whom they know to be stronger in God. Neglecting the fact that a New Testament believer is a potential priest and king for Christ (Revelation 5:10; Mark 16:17).

NO SHOW

NO SHOW

2 Kings 20:12-21
Devotional:- “And Hezekiah was attentive to them, and showed them all the house of his treasures-the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and all his armoury-all that was found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them” (v. 13) NKJV.

A great problem in the lives of many people is the spirit of show-off. The fundamental reason why they do everything is that people may see their glory and beauty, so any little opportunity they have, they will use to display that all men may see. If you see how some sit in their car and cross their legs on the dashboard.

You will know that they can’t go too far. This has been the trick that has held many down for a long time, and many who had been up before have been brought down. Since your season to rise has come, you have to be careful of the spirit of show-off.

The reason why this spirit brought many people down was that they unwisely exposed themselves to the enemy. That is why God’s word says, Be sober: be vigilant, for the enemy is looking for whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). The king we read about today has been greatly helped by God to gather much wealth during his rulership. But the devil smartly sneaked into his life and he offended God.

Watch out, friend, don’t expose yourself to the enemy. Rather, give glory to God. Show-off is a product of pride and ego, which God is against. If you intend to keep flying in life, then humble yourself. Do not choose to show. Stop throwing parties for a waste. Let wisdom guide your heart. Stop pretending to be where you are not (Proverbs 13:7). It will often make you lie to please men and displease God. Watch out!

PRAYER: LORD, HELP ME TO CHOOSE TO PLEASE YOU RATHER THAN TO PLEASE MEN.
