He that is not careful, will fall into many troubles. What Jesus is teaching us to avoid in life is the kind of care that makes us carry on our head what is wrong in our lives, and these all reflect on us. This is a level of anxiety. A careful man will observe his way and succeed, but an anxious man will be weeping in hopelessness. A careful man will avoid what can make him sick, but an anxious man will have a burden that produces sickness. The instruction of Jesus is therefore telling us to avoid carrying a burden of anxiety. MEN OF THE WORD

MEN OF THE WORD

Colossians 3:12–17
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (V. 16)

The word of God is our sword of the spirit (Ephesian 6:17). The word is our sure word of Prophesy (2 Peter 1:19). It is the truth, that is, the law that rules heavens and earth. The word is the covenant and the eternal promise of God. It has been finding fulfilment since ages past and it shall continue to find fulfilment as we put total trust in God and we wait on Him.

The Scripture says, seek, and you shall find, ask, and you shall be given, knock and the door shall be open unto you. Children of God seek and ask and knock, all these shall be released unto you through the word which is God Himself (John 1:1). The word of God is the bases for our faith. Faith in God is faith in the word. It is the foundation for our rest and our peace in God. That means, it is on the word we stand and have hope in. It is the creative force of God. This creative force is also in us whenever we speak the word of God (Genesis 1:2-3).

The word is therefore strongly important in the life of every victorious child of God. The Word is God Himself (John 1:1). The word is Spirit and Life (John 6:63). The word gives life and strength to the mind which enhances our victory (Psalm 119:97-100).

If you will be a victor, the word must dwell in you richly, then you have a solid base for overcoming in all situations.

Prayer: Lord, help me to store your word in my heart for my victory.

‘‘THE WORD OF GOD IS GOD IN LETTERS, WHICH BECOMES ACTIVE AS MEN SPEAK IT BY FAITH’’
