JOY

JOY John 16:16-24  Devotional:- “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” (V. 20) NKJV God’s word says when sorrow endures till a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). This is an assurance and evidence that what is called sorrow is not a permanent situation in the life of a child of God. This is because it is certain that when a night comes, morning is always the next. The night is evidence of the coming morning. This is evidence that what you are going through right now will soon result in joy. In fact, the tougher it is, the closer the joy. May you see it. The scripture we read today gave us a new dimension of hope in our lives. Jesus said, our sorrow shall turn to joy. That which we think is a thing of sorrow shall suddenly become a thing of joy. Jesus likens it to a woman who is in labour. Women in this state often feel as if the end has come. But ...

AS HE COMMANDS

AS HE COMMANDS

1 Samuel 15:10-23
So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. (V 22)

God is sovereign in all things. He is the alpha and omega of our lives. It is not when it comes to the battle and victory in life that He will not back us up. He is our creator. He has the right to direct us as His battle axe, we are to obey Him (Jeremiah 51:20). Failure to obey the commander, proves that you are rebellions and that can lead to total destruction.

Saul was made a king by God, yet God expect him to understand that He is still the commander. God expect that Saul should know that he is an instrument of battle in His hand. No matter your position or your level of wisdom, don't forget that you still have to do it as He commanded. He gave you all, and He knows how to withdraw them.

Saul eventually went to the battle in contrary to instruction, brought alive the people and those things God told him to destroy, and this led to the fall of Saul.

Friend, if you don't want to fall or fail as you go about facing life challenges, don't depend on your status or wisdom. Do it only as He has commanded. This is when your victory is secure and you will live without shame. This is when you can enjoy a lasting success. Don't forget that He is the master. Always ask for His leading and be obedient to Him. You will keep winning in Jesus name.

Prayer: Lord, help me to keep doing all things as you command me.

“HIS COMMANDS ARE OUR COMMISSION INTO VICTORY”.
