A REWARDER

Image
A REWARDER   Hebrews 11:4-7. Devotional:- "For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder, of those who diligently seek Him” (V.6)      Everyone involved in any kind of labor expects a reward. What motivates people into service or pursuit of life is the reward attached to it. It is embarrassing to see that most people labor for no reward, or rather their rewards don't often measure up to their service or input. This is the reason for frustration in the lives of many in the world today.

Word as Authority

Image
Word As Authority  Scripture:- Matt 8:5-13 Devotional:- he centurion answered and said, “Lord, i am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. (NKJV)      When you take the word of God as authority you are talking faith. The truth is that one of the ways that authority is demonstrated is by the spoken word. When the president of a country speaks his word has to be carried out because it has become an authority (Exxlesi 8:4)

QUALITY WORK

Image
QUALITY WORK Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:8-17 Devotional:- “each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is” (V. 13) NKJV      It is important that we keep it in our heart that our labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58). There is nothing anyone does for God that will not be rewarded, if it is done faithfully. Knowing that God will surely reward us calls for effectiveness, persistency and faithfulness.

GOD OF INCREASE

Image
GOD OF INCREASE 1 Corinthians 3:1-7    Devotional:- "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase” (V. 6) NKJV      Sometime, we could be unhappy and discouraged when our expectation seems delayed. When a man is laboring, he will set his mind on the harvest. Result is one major instrument that motivates us to intensify our effort. There is tendency to be discouraged, hope seems deferred (Proverbs 13:12)

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Image
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE Scripture Reading: Proverbs 16:27-33 Devotional:- “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city” (V. 32).       It is discovered that most of the people who succeed in this world are more of emotional intelligence than people with intellectual quotient (IQ). In other word, man by nature need to be able to first manage his own emotion. People are more prone to succeed in life when they have control over their emotion. That is why, they have the ability to be calm and be themselves, no matter what.

PREACH THE GOSPEL

Image
PREACH THE GOSPEL Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 4:1-8 Devotional:- “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (V. 2).       The lives of God’s vessel unto honour must preach the gospel. We must be careful in our generation not to become too self-focus and neglect the preaching of the gospel. Whenever I hear someone preaching I am always thankful to God. This is because, people need to keep hearing the gospel to believe (Romans 10:14).

PERSEVERANCE

Image
PERSEVERANCE Scripture Reading: Romans 5:1-5 Devotional:- “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;” (V. 3)      Every God’s vessel must be willing to persevere. It is only those who can persevere that can prevail. Most good achievements need tenacity and endurance. Every great achievement have painful endurance. All God’s vessel must therefore learn to persevere.

ABLE TO TEACH

Image
ABLE TO TEACH Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 3:1-7 Devotional:- “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;” (V. 2)       It takes teaching to educate. The challenge in our world today is many people living without impacting others meaningfully. To teach is to affect others. It is to be a good example that others can learn from. It is to impact into others virtues of wisdom for their rising. It is to make others better.

BE GENTLE

Image
BE GENTLE Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 3:1-7 Devotional:- “rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God” (V. 4) NKJV      No one wants to lose. Everyone wants to override others. That seems to be the way of most people today. It is becoming like a taboo to submit or to allow others. When a man has struggles in his spirit, he cannot be gentle in dealing with others. The word of God instructed us to be gentle.

NO ARGUMENT

Image
NO ARGUMENT Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 2:14-19 Devotional:- “Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers” (V. 14) NKJV      Some people take pleasure in winning arguments. So, they look for every avenue to create argument that they can win. Surely, it will not edify anyone, but create friction and tension among people. It will not help anyone out of his/her challenges rather; it will reduce the faith of people and destroy the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon us.

BE AT PEACE

Image
BE AT PEACE Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 Devotional:- “And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.” (V. 13) NKJV      As vessels of God, we must learn to be at peace with people around us and the people that we serve together. In relationship, it is normal for us to offend each other. As close as the tongue and the teeth, yet, they fight once a while. It may not be easy for us not to offend each other as we serve together, but Jesus taught us to forgive each other.

SERVING WITH LOVE

Image
SERVING WITH LOVE Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 4:7-11 Devotional:- “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."” (V. 8) NKJV      It is impossible to faithfully serve without loving. When it comes to serving, no one would love to submit to it except by the love of Christ. This is because; service demands that you relinquishing yourself of your ego to be of assistance to someone. In a natural sense, it looks like demotion. That is why only the humble can serve. To therefore be a vessel unto honour, our service unto God must be with love.

FAITH

Image
FAITH Scripture Reading: Galatians 3:10-14 Devotional:- “But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith"” (V. 11) NKJV      We always read from the word of God that the just shall live by faith. It is therefore important that we seek to both understand the purpose of faith to our lives and how to life by faith. When the word of God says that the just shall live by faith, it mean that the just will be dead without faith. This death is disconnection from God. When someone is disconnected from God, the life and the grace of God cannot be connected to him. No one can enjoy much in God without faith.

PURSUE HOLINESSS

Image
PURSUE HOLINESSS Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:12-17 Devotional:- “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:” (V. 14) NKJV      Holiness is the standard of God’s attitude. That is why the Bible says that “God is a Holy God” (Leviticus 19:2). Holiness is perfection. It is living without a blemish. It is living a life of total surrendered life unto God. This is a life that is always obedience unto God in all things. It is a life totally separated and sanctified unto God (Romans 12:1).

FLEE

Image
FLEE Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 6:6-16   Devotional:- “But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness” (V. 11) NKJV      For everyone who wants to be a vessel unto honour, the word of God told us what we must flee from. There are a whole lot of differences between walking and fleeing. The word fleeing is synonymous to the word flying. This means, it is far higher than running. It actually interprets disappearing. To disappear is to have nothing to trace you to a place.

GOOD WORKS

Image
GOOD WORKS Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10 Devotional:- “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them”  (V. 10) NKJV      God is a good God. He is the one that does good works (Job 5:9). If anyone therefore wants to do good works as the Bible says, then he/she must be ready to do what God is doing. To do good works is also to be used by God to help others. Good works are therefore a ministry of help to humanity.

LET HIM USE YOU

Image
LET HIM USE YOU Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 2:18-26   Devotional:-“Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (V. 21) NKJV      Everyone you see on this planet earth is used either by the Spirit of God or the spirit of the devil. The spirit of man came from God but it can be ruled by either (Genesis 2:7). This is because God has made man a free moral agent God has given us the grace to make choices. That is why you need to be deliberate about the spirit you submit to every minute of your life.

SANCTIFICATION

Image
SANCTIFICATION Scripture Reading: Joshua 3:5-17   Devotional:- “And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you." (V. 5) NKJV      God works miracle all the time, but man is always the hindrance to His moves. If we are going to see the manifestation of the power of and the glory of the Lord in our lives, then, we must sanctify ourselves unto God. To be sanctified is to be totally separated unto the Lord as a vessel to Him alone. This is because; he that is not totally separated unto the Lord can be borrowed vessel by the devil anytime.

CLEAN UP

Image
CLEAN UP Scripture Reading: Psalms 24:1-10  Devotional:- “He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully” (V. 4) NKJV      To become a vessel unto honour a man must clean and purify himself. This is because a vessel unto honour is a vessel been used by God. First as a vessel of His mercy and also as a vessel unto honour (Romans 9:22-24). That already inform you that you cannot be used by God except you passes through the process of been cleansed. This is because God is a Holy God.

HIS PLAN

Image
HIS PLAN Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 29:10-14 Devotional:- “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (V. 11) NKJV      God is the master planner and He has a master plan of the universe in his hand. Your life is not made to be an event of confusion. You are created to fit in and fulfill your part of the eternal agenda of God. Plans make life orderly and for each one to come in at different time to fulfill their parts on earth.

GOD’S PURPOSE

Image
GOD’S PURPOSE Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 2:1-10 Devotional:- “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (V. 9) NKJV      God made everyone to fulfill a purpose. It is as we start to fulfill our purpose that we become a vessel unto honour. That is why each one has the responsibility to discover his/her purpose and live in it. No one is ordained for shame, this only happens when people walk away from the plan of God for their lives.

HE CALLS YOU

Image
HE CALLS YOU Scripture Reading: Matthew 11:25-30 Devotional:- “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (V. 29) NKJV        Everyone who has found the saving grace of Christ has also been called to serve the Lord. He has ordained all of us as His vessel of honour (1 Peter 2:9). Though, we are individually called to do different things in the body of Christ. Yet, all are to serve, to bring glory and honour to Him (1 Corinthians 10:31). That is why you must not exempt yourself.

HE WIRED YOU

Image
HE WIRED YOU  Jeremiah 1:1-10 Devotional:- "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (V. 5) NKJV     It is important you come to know that God formed you in your mother’s womb for a purpose. Your mother has the feeling of a baby growing in her womb when you were conceived, but she does not know how. She has no business in understanding or determining your gifts or talents. She cannot tell you what you will do or become in this world except God reveals it to her. Your maker determines the details of your life without consulting you or anyone.

THE POTTER

Image
THE POTTER Scripture Reading: Romans 9:16-26 Devotional:- “Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?”  (V. 21) NKJV         You need to always remember that God is your maker. He is the potter. He made each one to fulfill different purposes. You therefore need to search out to know what He made you to be. None of us has the right to complain (1 Corinthians 10:10). We are individually made to fit into different functions but all according to His designs.

LIVING SACRIFICE

Image
LIVING SACRIFICE Scripture Reading: Romans 12:1-5 Devotional:- “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” (V. 1) NKJV      Jesus is the sacrificial Lamb of God. He laid down His life to redeem us. His blood has become the price of our salvation (Ephesians 1:7). The Bible calls Him the first among the living (Romans 8:29). This means we are to follow His example to please the Lord. That is why the word of God says “we are to be a living sacrifice”.

SERVING

Image
SERVING  Scripture Reading: Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (V. 45) NKJV      We can be used by God when we make ourselves available for Him. We can make ourselves available for God through service. To serve is to allow God to use us as His vessel to touch other lives. God is always looking for someone to use. We are the one to make ourselves available.

HIS ENERGY

Image
HIS ENERGY Scripture Reading: 2 Peter 1:16-21 Devotional:-“ for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (V. 21) NKJV      God’s vessel of honour are the people who serve with His energy. To serve with His energy is to run in life with the strength of the Holy Spirit. The energy of God will make someone to serve above his/her ability or capacity. The energy of the Spirit makes God to work through us (Philippians 2:13). When a man is running with the energy of the spirit, he cannot be weary (Isaiah 40:31). When someone is running or serving with the energy of the spirit, all barriers will crumble (Zechariah 6:6-7). He will be strong.

WALKING WITH GOD

Image
WALKING WITH GOD Scripture Reading: Genesis 17:1-9 Devotional:- “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,"I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless”” (V. 1) NKJV      Those who want to become vessel unto honour must be willing to walk with God. To walk with God is to walk in His footsteps. To walk with God is to follow His ways. His ways are different from our ways, just like His thoughts are different from our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-11). Only those who can walk with God can enjoy the honour of God.

FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Image
FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT Scripture Reading: Acts 1:1-8 Devotional:- “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (V. 8) NKJV      Anyone who wants to be vessels unto honour is seeking to be used by the Lord. God will have to dwell in you before He starts to use you. God is a Spirit (John 4:24). That is why someone who wants to be a vessel unto honour must be filled with the Holy Spirit.

SEPARATED UNTO GOD

Image
SEPARATED UNTO GOD Scripture Reading: Genesis 12:1-8 Devotional:- “So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran” (V. 4) NKJV      A vessel unto honour is the one that has allowed the honorable spirit to use them to achieve honorable deeds. If a vessel will be used by a spirit, then that vessel must be separated for its purpose. There are pots for water and there are pots for dye to be used for cloths coloring. The two cannot be used interchangeably. Wisdom demands that we separate different pot for the two.

CHOOSE YOUR MASTER

Image
CHOOSE YOUR MASTER Scripture Reading: Joshua 24: 13-20 Devotional:- “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (V. 15) NKJV      God made us to serve Him (Isaiah 43:21). Just like God want us to serve Him, the devil also is looking for who he will use (Deuteronomy 28:47-48). That is why each man should make a choice. You need to choose who will be your master. When people don’t make the choice, they stand on the fence. There are many people in the church today who have not determined who will be the master over their soul.

YOU ARE A VESSEL

Image
YOU ARE A VESSEL Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:9-18 Devotional:- “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (V. 16) NKJV      It is important that all men come to know that we are created to be a vessel. A vessel is an instrument used in carrying out an assignment. A vessel is an instrument used by the owner to achieve a given goal. God wired us to be a vessel for Him (Isaiah 43:21). But the devil also want to use us (Romans 6:14-16). That is why it is important that you come to know that you are a vessel.
