DISTANCING FROM THE SCRIPTURES

DISTANCING FROM THE SCRIPTURES Deuteronomy 8:1-11 Devotional:- “To teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD” (v.3) NIV      The word of God is the bank of our strength in God. The word of God is the strength of God (John 1:1-3; Hebrews 4:12). Through the word, God had done all He had done. God’s word says, without Him, nothing else was created (John 1:3). When a man, therefore, distances himself from the Word of God, such is distancing himself from his source, He will lack the strength of God.

GOOD WORKS

GOOD WORKS

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10
Devotional:- “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them”  (V. 10) NKJV

God is a good God. He is the one that does good works (Job 5:9). If anyone therefore wants to do good works as the Bible says, then he/she must be ready to do what God is doing. To do good works is also to be used by God to help others. Good works are therefore a ministry of help to humanity.

The word of God said: God has recreated us and prepared us for this. In other word, we were saved and redeemed for this purpose. When Jesus redeemed us, He has repackaged in us the ability to do good works. This He does through the Holy Spirit He gave to us. The Holy Spirit does this through us by giving us different abilities and gifts (1 Corinthians 12:6-7). These are our instruments for good works.

It is therefore important that make sure our services to God are good works before God. This is by doing it to please the master and to bless lives. Our work may look good but it is not done in righteousness, it will be bad work. The difference between good and bad work is that only good work will be rewarded by God. God must direct us to it and we do it in His will by His grace and abilities He gave us. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, make all my life for your good works

“It is either you are doing good work or bad work”
