NO ARGUMENT

NO ARGUMENT

Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 2:14-19
Devotional:- “Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers” (V. 14) NKJV

Some people take pleasure in winning arguments. So, they look for every avenue to create argument that they can win. Surely, it will not edify anyone, but create friction and tension among people. It will not help anyone out of his/her challenges rather; it will reduce the faith of people and destroy the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon us.

The scripture commands us to stop such. God made some of us to be sanguine, but there should be moderation in how we live before others. God give us this grace or He made us that way to be a mouth for the gospel. He made us to comfort, encourage and edify others (1 Corinthians 14:3). We need to keep it in mind that most grace of God leaked through the mouth (proverbs 10:19). Let us be careful not to jest away the joy and comfort of others.

Friend, winning arguments is not equal to winning in life. The Bible says this could ruin others. The word of God teaches us to bridle our tongues. As honorable vessels, let us be mindful of who we serve. Everything should not come out of our mouth (James 3:1-12). Argument does not lead to victory in life. Rather, let release our mouth for the gospel of peace.

PRAYER: Lord, give me victory over the spirit of argument
