TIME OF CELEBRATION

TIME OF CELEBRATION  2 Samuel 6:11-23 Devotional:- “Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod” (V. 14) NKJV As much as this season is tagged with much celebration, the enemy often tries to see how he could poison the joy of many people to remove them from the list of people who will celebrate. It will be wisdom for you to know that happiness and sorrow are a choice. I will advise you to choose to rejoice in hope and leave sorrow for the enemy (Romans 5:22). In the scripture we read today, David and all the people were in a mood of celebration because of the advent of the ark of the Lord. But a lady could not see what was worth celebrating, and she took offence at David’s elegant celebration. And she remains barren till her death. Friend, if the coming of the ark of the Lord is sufficient to lose celebration, how much more the coming of Christ, the Son of God. Don’t let the devil push you to sorrow corner in a time like this. QUALITY WORK

QUALITY WORK

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:8-17
Devotional:- “each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is” (V. 13) NKJV

It is important that we keep it in our heart that our labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58). There is nothing anyone does for God that will not be rewarded, if it is done faithfully. Knowing that God will surely reward us calls for effectiveness, persistency and faithfulness.

The word of God told us that the foundation of all we are called to do is Christ. Nothing should be added or subtracted from Jesus. So that our work can be rewarded. The Bible says “we should watch what we are building on the foundation. Someone may be building gold kind of work; others may be building at the silver level, others as precious stones while others as wood hay or straw.

Friend, let us build quality service in God. Let your work not be likened to hay or straw or grass when others are building with gold. All of this talks about the quality of our work before God. This quality is determined by our commitment and loyalty to God, our persistency and faithfulness. Stop looking at man to serve the Lord. From today start to give quality services to God wherever you are. Your reward will come in Jesus name. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, strengthen me to continue faithfully
