The fact that he is not financially inclined or that friends visit does not stop him from training. Even if he has just lost a race, he dares not relax his training. STRONG IN THE SPIRIT

STRONG IN THE SPIRIT

Luke 1:67-80
Devotional:-“So the child grew and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel” (v.80) NKJV

We are growing when we are gaining strength. This is when we develop the ability to handle what we are not able to handle before. As citizens of the kingdom of God, we are instructed to be strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6: 10-12). This is because there are things to be contended for and there are forces to be contended with. (Ephesians 6: 12, 1 Peter 5:8-9).

Physical strength comes by eating and exercising. So also, is spiritual strength. God’s word says, John the Baptist was growing strong in the spirit. To be strong in the spirit, we must learn to eat the food of the spirit which is the word of God (Luke 4:4). To eat the food of this world, we chew and swallow them into our stomach for digestion, so also to eat the food of the spirit, we must chew by meditating over the word till it enters our heart and we digest it into our body.

If anyone is weak spiritually, the devil will outsmart his life with troubles and he will be a victim (Proverbs 24:10). That is why you and I must put in our best to be strong in the spirit, so that we have the ability in the Holy Spirit to overcome all the schemes of the devil. You are winning. Peace.

Prayer: Lord, give me a heart for your word.
