TIME OF JOY

TIME OF JOY Philippians 4:1-7 Devotional:- “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again l say, rejoice.” (V. 4) KJV One of the most important and most needed virtues of life is joy. When joy is not in place, many things may not be in place. It is joy that eases a man off the tension of life. It is joy that puts men always in health (Proverbs 17:22). It is joy that destroys our doubt. It is the joy in the Lord that increases our faith. It is joy that refreshes our minds and gives us mental richness. There are many more things that joy does in our lives, yet it looks so scarce in the lives of many. This is because there are not many pleasant situations that will help them rejoice. But you, as a believer, should know that you cannot afford to live in sorrow, for without joy, life will be totally in shambles. It is with joy that we can bring our situation back to life and beauty (Isaiah 12:3). It is the strength of life (Nehemiah 8:10). The coming of Jesus to the world brought the joy that would...

FILLED WITH WISDOM

FILLED WITH WISDOM

Deuteronomy 34: 1-12
Devotional:-“Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses” (v.9) NKJV

A man is said to be growing when he is filled with wisdom (Luke 2:40). This is a normal demonstration of growth. A major trouble in the life of most people today is the inability to grow in wisdom. It becomes more challenging when they cannot locate someone to counsel them in the way of wisdom. Since most people are not growing in wisdom, they cannot raise others in wisdom. Because, no man can give what he does not have. When parents are not filled with wisdom, the children cannot. When teachers do not possess wisdom, the students cannot.

We read in the testimony of Joshua today that he was filled with wisdom. So also is Jesus, Solomon and the Apostles. Wisdom is evidential in taking wise action. It may not be easy to grow wisdom just by learning or reading about it. It is better given by following a wise master (Proverbs 13:20). Man is slow in learning; we are people who need to fail to succeed. That is why we need someone to show us, instruct us and correct us.

Joshua related closely with Moses, to be filled with wisdom, the laying of hands was not all it takes. That is an impartation. There is a need to humble yourself to relate with the wise and you will manifest the wisdom of God (Proverbs 13:20). This simply means, the kind of people you are relating with, will go a long way to determine who you will be in life. Peace.

Prayer: Lord impart your wisdom into my life.
