GROWING

GROWING Ephesians 4:9-16 Devotional:- “But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head of Christ” (V. 15) God’s plan and desire is that we grow up. So many Christian today are growing older but not growing up. Many are stocked in perpetual spiritual infancy. This is because they never intend to grow. Spiritual growth is not automatic, it takes intentional commitment. You must want to grow, decide to grow, make an effort and persist in growing. Discipleship is the process of becoming like Christ (Matthew 10:25). In your spiritual growth, God has a part and you have a part. To be Christ-like you will need to make Christ like choices and depend on the Holy Spirit to help you fulfill those choices. The moment you are ready, you will need to let go of some old routines and develop some new habits. You will need to intentionally change the way you are thinking (Philippians 2:12-13). To work out your salvation with fear and trembling means to take you...

LET GO

LET GO

Ephesians 4: 17-24
Devotional:-“that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts” (v.22) NKJV

A strong factor of growth is that you have to let go your weaknesses, habit or attitude of unrighteousness. Sometime, we don’t realize that we are holding unto our old nature. We do this when we see it as what we cannot grow out of or do without.

The word of God told us bluntly that we have to put off the old nature and put on the new man. You can only grow when you allow the weaknesses or the old you to go. Don’t hold on to it. To put off or let go is a conscious effort on our side as a man. This is the act of consciously disallowing our heart from thinking or dwelling on the weak and sinful way. It is a life time battle but the word of God promised us victory in Christ.

To put off or let go, you must labour to change your thinking pattern over your old nature and take the mindset of the word of God. To achieve this, you must starve to death the sinful nature or weaknesses (Colossians 3:5). This is by stopping to read ungodly information, watch or be among people who encourages you to go that way (Romans 8:14). Identify what is feeding or triggering the attitude and consciously denying yourself of it. To put on the new man is to feed the new nature with the word of God and fellowship that encourages you to live well. You will surely grow. Peace.

Prayer: Lord, strengthens me to say no to ungodliness.

"STARVE YOUR WEAK NATURE AND FEED YOUR NEW NATURE"
