WAITING ON THE LORD

WAITING ON THE LORD 2 Samuel 5:1-10 Devotional:- “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (v.4) NKJV One of the good virtues of God we must always appreciate is His faithfulness. God is not a man that will lie; whatever He has said in His word, He is able to do and He shall do. You can always plug yourself into His promises as much as you work in His covenants. I always tell people never to think God’s word is written only to some specific persons we hear or read about in the Bible. The word of God is the standard practice and programme of God. They were only privileged to be the ones to receive the word at their time, but God is still the same, and so is His word. In claiming the word of God, you must learn to be able to patiently wait. People who will retain their joy must add this virtue to their life (Hebrews 6:12). Our scripture today told us of the installation of David as king, but that was a promise he received from God when he was about 1...

SANCTIFIED

SANCTIFIED

John 17:9-19
Devotional: -“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (V. 17) NKJV

Knowledge sets free. Knowledge equips and builds strong; build courage and confidence. Much more, the knowledge of the truth do sanctify. The word ‘sanctification’ means separation unto the Lord. It means, brought to the side of God. It means, made to be only a vessel of the Lord. The power in the word of God translates people from darkness to light (1 Peter 2:9).

Jesus was praying for the church and He asked the father to sanctify us by the truth. This is because when someone hears the truth and gave himself to it, he will discover the right and the wrong information. When such person allows the Spirit of the word, then, his/her soul shall be converted to the Lord (Psalms. 19:7; Psalms 51:13). The more you give yourself to the study of the word God, the more you experience the convention to the side of the Lord. Christians who are found doing ungodly things are those who refuse to give their heart to the truth of the word of God (Romans 1:18-25).

The truth is that, it is the truth of the word of God that sanctifies us and purify us unto God. That is why a Christian that is not given to studying the word of God, either personally or with the church will not be for the Lord. At the point of temptation he will discover he lacks the stamina to stand. You only belong to God as you give yourself to the words of God. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, help me to give myself to the study of your word.

“YOU WILL ALWAYS BE POSSESSED BY THE SPIRIT OF WHAT YOU KEEP HEARING”
