THE LORD OF HOST               

Psalm 46:1-11
Devotional: -“The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge” (V. 7) NKJV
 
   Jesus is the Lord of hosts. That is, He is the head of the army or the forces of God. Remember the forces of God carries out the word of God and Jesus is the commander in Chief (Ephesians 1:17-23). He is the Lord of hosts. That is why you need not to be afraid (Psalm 23:4). Your Savior, your Redeemer, your Lord is the head of the army of God (Philippians 2:9-11).
 
   The word of God says, the Lord of hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge. Jesus earns this position because He came to die for the sin of humanity. No one else has done such a sacrifice, acceptable to God for the remission of the human sin and redemption of his soul. Because Jesus humbled Himself to die for the sin of humanity God gave Him this exalted position of authority (Philippians 2:9). That is why we are to pray in the name of Jesus (Philippians 2:10) This makes the word of God so powerful. As the commander of the host of God, all you need to call is His name, ‘Jesus’ and the host will respond.
 
   Friend, you need to believe and accept the truth of the power in the word of God. You must learn to keep speaking it, you must learn to always remember that the Lord of host, who is your Saviour will always bring it to past. He was in battle with Joshua (Joshua 5:14). He was in the fire with the three Hebrews (Daniel 3:24-25). He is always with you (Psalms 46:11). Always declare the word in His name and it will not fail. Peace!
 
PRAYER: Lord, help me never to lose sight of your presence.

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). God depends more on circumstances to grow our character than reading the Bible; this is because we have challenging circumstances twenty four seven. The word of God made us to see challenges in our life as normal (1 Peter 4:18). Your deepest expression of worship is mostly in the darkest days. It is during suffering that we learn to pray our most authentic, heart-felt and honest prayers to God (James 5:16).
