HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43).   The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Looking at how a servant act is important because one could serve in a church for years and not be a real servant. Real servants make themselves available to serve. If you only serve when it is convenient, then you are not a good servant (2 Timothy 2:4). Real servants pay attention to needs, always lo...

STUDY

STUDY

Proverbs 25:1-7
Devotional: -“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter” (V. 2) NKJV

To study is to be curious. To study is to go on a search. To study is to give quality attention to find out a matter. To study is to put in quality attention to access the deep secret or mystery of an information. We can access the power in the word of God by studying the word.  Those who will not study, will not be able to access the power.

The word of God says to us, that God takes glory and honour in hiding things. That means, though the power of God is available to all but not all will access it. The word of God tells us that only Kings or Ruler takes the honour in searching the power in the word of God. God makes His power a secret i.e. a bank, because He wants people to pay the price of searching (Deuteronomy 29:29). This is because, whatever that is common only makes common people, but only deep searchers are ordained by their discoveries to rule. As much as the word of God is powerful, each of us has to pay the price of studying.

Let us therefore be willing to commit our lives and energy to studying the word of God. It is not a mere book or a mere word but the power bank of God. The riches of this world are not found on the surface. You do not need to give yourself to studying volume at a time, but be consistent in your study. This is by satisfying the questions of your heart by the help of the Holy Spirit. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me a heart to always study your word.
