THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

Luke1619-31
DevotionalVerse:- 'Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame'."  (Vs. 24)

It is important we understand that there is a demarcation between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of this world which is of the devil. The Blessing of the Kingdom of God comes from God when one obeys Him (Deut. 28:1). But the blessings of the worldly kingdom come with deceiving and cheating one another.

The rich man whom Jesus was referring to in our text did not know the important of serving God with his wealth. Acquiring his wealth had cost him painful practices in all manner of gimmicks, so it was difficult for him to share with others. That was why he was not able to take care of the poor and he ended up in hell. Though Lazarus who was a citizen of the Kingdom of God was not knowledgeable enough to know how to make it in the things of this world, he ended up in heaven where Father Abraham is. The truth is that, you should not lack as a child of God but you should be rich toward God’s Kingdom (Luke 12:15-21).

Friend whatever God gives you a privilege to access or attain, use it for His glory. That is when you can be sure that eternal reward is awaiting you in heaven. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to use all I have for your glory.
