CHOICE OF JOY Acts 16:20-30 Devotional:- “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” (V.25) NKJV So many people in this world have not woken up to the fact that the way they live is their choice. One of the greatest errors is to think that the situation a man finds himself, is the determining factor of his life. This is not true. Please come to an awareness of this truth from now on: that you are living as you have chosen to live. Get to know that you are a creature of choice. Whatever your choice is, that is your lot. God chooses no evil for anyone in life (Jeremiah 29:11). Whether you are happy or not, whether you are rich or not, whether you are healthy or not, it is your choice; if you decide otherwise from now and stand by your decision, things will change for you. THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

Luke1619-31
DevotionalVerse:- 'Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham,have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame'."  (Vs. 24)



   It is important we understand that there is a demarcation between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of this world which is of the devil. The Blessing of the Kingdom of God comes from God when one obeys Him (Deut. 28:1). But the blessings of the worldly kingdom come with deceiving and cheating one another. 

   The rich man whom Jesus was referring to in our text did not know the important of serving God with his wealth. Acquiring his wealth had cost him painful practices in all manner of gimmicks, so it was difficult for him to share with others. That was why he was not able to take care of the poor and he ended up in hell. Though Lazarus who was a citizen of the Kingdom of God was not knowledgeable enough to know how to make it in the things of this world, he ended up in heaven where Father Abraham is. The truth is that, you should not lack as a child of God but you should be rich toward God’s Kingdom (Luke 12:15-21).

     Friend whatever God gives you a privilege to access or attain, use it for His glory. That is when you can be sure that eternal reward is awaiting you in heaven. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to use all I have for your glory.

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
