LOOKING UNTO HIM

LOOKING UNTO HIM Psalms 34:1-7 Devotional:- “They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed” (V. 5) NKJV To enjoy the love of God for us, we must learn to keep looking unto Him. The scripture says, they looked unto him and were not ashamed. No one trusts in Him who will be ashamed at the end. It is amazing that Joseph, whom they sold as a slave, eventually became a ruler. Because that is God’s plan for Him (Genesis 45:1-9). Amazingly, Abraham, who had no children for almost a hundred years, at last became the father of eight children before he died (Genesis 25:1-2, 9). These are proofs of God’s faithfulness. Because He also has a plan for each of us, He does not want us to be discouraged or frustrated, but rather to keep looking unto Him. This is because He has a plan for us, and it shall surely come to pass. That is why He said, "I know the plans that I have for you; they are not of evil, but good, to give you a hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). H...

THE RICH FOOL

THE RICH FOOL

Luke 12:13-21
Devotional Verse: - "And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Vs.15)

It is amazing to hear that people can be rich and foolish at the same time. It looks contradictory. This is because in our thinking, we expect every rich person to be wise. We often assume that it takes wisdom to be rich. This assumption is quite true but we have not taken time to separate Godly wisdom from worldly wisdom (James 3:13-18).

Jesus responded to a man who was seeking to take up a case with his brother concerning inheritance. Jesus thought us to be careful of covetousness. As a citizen of the kingdom of God. Your life is no longer yours, not to think of the materials in your possession.  Jesus then gave a parable of a rich fool who does not know that all things belong to God. He was so selfish with his wealth that he lost his soul. Friend, don’t ever let this happen to you.

The wisdom of the world tells people to stop giving to have more (Luke16:15) and makes them covetous. People with the wisdom of this world never see what they have as good enough. This is why they can do anything to keep getting more because their hope lies in money. The wisdom of God always asks us to give, because our trust is not in money but in His divine provision (Matthew 7:24). God will always ask you to give to know whether your love is for money or for Him. As a kingdom citizen, it is important that you get used to this. Be happy and grateful for the much God is giving you and you will have access to more of His Blessings. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me not to be a servant but a master to money.
