WAITING ON THE LORD

WAITING ON THE LORD 2 Samuel 5:1-10 Devotional:- “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (v.4) NKJV One of the good virtues of God we must always appreciate is His faithfulness. God is not a man that will lie; whatever He has said in His word, He is able to do and He shall do. You can always plug yourself into His promises as much as you work in His covenants. I always tell people never to think God’s word is written only to some specific persons we hear or read about in the Bible. The word of God is the standard practice and programme of God. They were only privileged to be the ones to receive the word at their time, but God is still the same, and so is His word. In claiming the word of God, you must learn to be able to patiently wait. People who will retain their joy must add this virtue to their life (Hebrews 6:12). Our scripture today told us of the installation of David as king, but that was a promise he received from God when he was about 1...

THE FIG TREE

THE FIG TREE

Luke 13:6-9
Devotional Verse:- “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.”  (Vs. 6)

Every citizen of the kingdom of God is expected to bear fruits unto God. This is because God, by His Spirit has invested so much in us. He has invested in us the gifts of the Spirit in different varieties. He has invested in us the passion for specific assignments in His house and in our businesses. He has also invested special abilities and unique personalities in us. He has invested in us all manner of experiences. He has planned and fashioned us for His glory (Isaiah 43:21).

In our Scripture for today, Jesus told us of a man who planted a tree and was expecting fruits from it. He was disappointed when it didn't bear fruits. So, a command was given to cut down the tree.

Friend, refuse to be a disappointment to God. Be committed to the service of the Lord in soul winning. Giving care for members of God’s family and meditating over the word of God to produce the fruits of the Spirit in you. (2 Cor. 3:18, Gal. 5:22). The word of God is the seed of life (Luke 8:11). Don’t be a Christian without proof of progress in your spiritual journey and in your business. Strive to be fruitful and God’s blessings will multiply in you. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, Give me the grace to be a fruitful Christian
